Monty, I thought the school did a very nice job and the turn out was pretty good. I think it was an Alumni/STH event which was nice. The more people the better. Several of the players were there Ferreira, Carr, Holmstrom and Pendenza. Did I miss anyone? It was a perfect night for a cookout and a ball game. Hopefully they do it again next summer.I've heard from a couple of different people that went to the season ticket holder event tonight, but just in general ... any news come out tonight? How was it?
Coach Bazin said a few words and introduced the new assistant coaches. He did confirm the commitment of Jake Suter.
Trying to get Bazin in trouble already?Curious question, did he mention Suter by name and has Suter signed a LOI yet?
Haar commits to Western Michigan.According to this article, the River Hawks have offered a scholarship to Haar for next season.
The Niagara schedule doesn't show the game either.Hockey East has posted the composite schedule, and it has Lowell hosting Niagara on Sunday 10/23. Goriverhawks.com does not have this game listed.
"I didn't need to sign a contract, but I wanted to send a clear message to the faculty, the deans and the UMass Lowell community that I'm committed to staying and finishing the wonderful projects we've started," Meehan told The Sun yesterday.

Happy Birthday Scott.Happy Birthday ScottK!
Next week will be an interesting one. The CCHA has it's annual summer meeting (August 15-16) in Dearborn Mich. It's expected that Notre Dame will inform the league of it's decision regarding their future (2013-2014) conference alignment. Based on all the talk it could be either Hockey East or the NCHC.
I'll again state that I have no interest in Notre Dame... I don't see what it does for us.
edit: I could see that we'd get an attendance boost... at the same time it warps the Hockey East brand.
