UML 2018/2019 Season: Back to Bazin Basics

Re: UML 2018/2019 Season: Back to Bazin Basics

Your dude axed one of our guys from far enough away that it showed up where I was after one of the other scrums then did something blatant enough to get a major. He is scum. He was cheap all night and that was the culmination. Both sides were nasty at each other but this was standout bad. No need for that BS. This has nothing to do with the outcome of the game. To be blunt- we sucked. Your guys came to play.

fair enough... mookie read the boxscore in the airport this morning and wondered wth... thanks. ;)

From the BU thread:
the commissioner was in attendance at game so don't know what he saw
Bowers was pretty loose with stick all night
Third period could have been BU's best all season defensively

BU really shut down the Hawks in the 3rd period. Down two goals and getting out shot 4-10 in the 3rd. The puck has to start going in at some point, right?

The 3rd period was a tough watch. Between BU shutting them down, the lack of hustle, and when they did get zone time picks bouncing over sticks and out of the zone.

Yup, then they finally got a PP but did nothing with it. BU was very aggressive but the Hawks looked disorganized and struggled just to move the puck through center ice. The puck movement just seems too slow. BU whips the puck around tape to tape, the Hawks not so much.

I like the fact that the refs let the teams play last night but I think we may see more calls tonight, especially after scrums.

I was out playing broomball... heard about 5 minutes of the second. Will be interested to hear how it went down.

I dont have much hope for this crew but it isnt done until they say it is... so I can just hope it falls into place

No need for that last hit by Lowell. Inexcusable

I didn't get a good look at the hit as I sit on the penalty box side. It's too bad the game had to end that way. I'm sure the league will take a look at it.

Not a smart play. We'll see if the league hands anything extra down for tomorrow afternoon.

Since Hockey East went to the best-of-3 format in 1996, Lowell has played in 9 Game 3s, and has a record of 6-3, including 4-1 at home (the loss was in 2012 to Providence).

Overall in Hockey East, there have been 35 series that went to a 3rd game, 31 in the quarterfinals, 4 in the Opening Round.

Home teams are 24-11, 21-10 in the quarterfinals.

12 teams have lost Game 1, then won Games 2 and 3 (9 in the quarterfinals), 8 of them were at home (6 in the quarterfinals). 2 of those wins belong to Lowell - 2001 at UNH, 2017 at home vs UNH

Turk will say the BU player sold it

Go figure YOU of all people would put words into my mouth, shocking for a BC grad. ::eyeroll::

It's St. Patrick Day don't you have some whisky to drink, a wife to abuse, or a troubled priest to transfer to another parish?

That hit was brutal. Lucas deserves to sit for a day for that one no doubt in my mind. In fact, you can go onto Twitter and see my analysis in real time from last night. I had a direct line of sight on the hit in question and there was no excuse for Lucas to take that run at Bobo.

If you still don't understand that David Cotton turned his back to the play intentionally I can't help you, man. There was no call on the ice, when it happened and a ref less than 10 ft away. The applied a penalty after the fact. That penalty was bull**** that night and still bull**** now.

Our seats are also on penalty box side, not far from where refs view replays. I noticed one of the refs seemed to have a phone up to his ear as though he was in consultation with someone. Does anyone know who it might have been? Is there another room with replay's happening perhaps? I doubt there is a Toronto like warroom as in nhl, or maybe so? This was in that delay with 7.5 seconds left,...after the hit on carpenter.

My first guess was with someone from league office about a rules thing. Perhaps with regards to GMs and supplemental discipline.
