Well said.

Beer Works has a parking lot right across the street that is owned by Notini. They charge $10 to park. Good selection of beers, and pretty good food as well.

I agree and recommend the Godzilla if they still have it. Good stuff.

Headed to Tsongas for the first time this weekend, looking forward to a good game of hockey. First time to the city of Lowell as well, any UML posters have suggestions regarding places to eat before/after the game?
Some good advice so far. If it's your first time in the area, you definitely want to be parked by 5pm at the latest and should plan on walking the rest of the evening. Also, if you don't have your tickets in hand when you drive in, get them at the arena first, then seek food.

Once the game is over, the Lowell PD has done a really good job of streamlining the evacuation of the area after a game, putting officers at all the lights between the arena and the Connector on-ramp.

Very, very much appreciated, to all posters. The tidbit about getting tickets first is quite valuable, my friends and I do not have tickets yet, we planned on getting them tomorrow. I'll pass along the info to the others. Tickets, park, walk for food, sounds like a plan! Thank you all!

Lowell lost their first ever DI basketball game, but I have to say ... I'm still impressed. Lost 69-42, but actually scored first in the second half to take a 25-23 lead. At last year's NCAA DI Finalist. ****.

Eventually talent and depth just ran them over, but still like how they played.

yeah... the DC event was bungled so I didn't get to watch it until I got home and watched the 2nd half. Michigan remembered their size and Lowell didn't look like they got much opportunity.

ultimately didn't pay off, but i like what bazin did at the end of the game in pulling the goalie with over 2 minutes to go. wish more coaches would be that aggressive.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season ... The Target is firmly on

Good game. We stole one and I'll certainly take it.

Wish the refs had kept their whistles down for both teams.

Tough game to swallow at the end of the day. But the offense looked strong to me. Tough no-goal calls to be honest but we just have until Tuesday to wait.

Speaking of which, anyone find a stream for the game on Tuesday

Sometimes you literally cannot buy a bounce of the puck. Not sure how that last waived off goal (of the three reviews and one absurd "goalie interference but we'll ignore the hook preceding it" waived off goal) didn't cross the line.

Except for the defensive lapse that led to the second NU goal, Lowell played a great game. Hats off to NU, both teams were dealing with some irrational officials tonight. Roy's goal was a beauty.

On to Princeton.

And if only you had left early again, we would have won. :D

Echoing the sentiments already posted. Not taking anything away from NU but the officiating drove me nuts. :rolleyes:New official. Ugh. I know they need to learn on somebody but I wish it wasn't on us.

Officiating was equally horrible. I was in sec 101 with a clear view of that play and I would have bet my house that would have been called a goal on replay. Lowell played well enough to win but didnt get the breaks and there were frustrating stretches of time where they just coasted around. I would say the effort and passion was there 45/60 minutes. Congrats to NU who stole one tonight on a lot of determination and a little luck.

The overhead view showed the puck hitting the cross bar, dropping straight down, and sliding along the goal line. The puck never completely crossed the goal line.

Lowell came out flying in the 1st and scored the 1st goal and everything looked good. Then they killed all their momentum with penalties and they never fully recovered. They need to stay out of the box and stop taking so many penalties.

They reviewed it. We saw multiple angles, it never crossed the line, somehow. It was a correct call.

Agreed on the penalties. Was talking about this with a few people during the game and it was frustrating. Very uncharacteristic of the team overall the past two years. However I do seem to recall Houk taking a slew of dumb penalties at the start of the season last year and that trend decreased as the season went on. Now that the power play and penalty kill appears to be righting itself after a slow start, reducing the amount of penalties is the next item to check off.

Re: UML 2013/2014 Season ... The Target is firmly on

I was surprised at the 3 stars showing again I know absolutely nothing about hockey. If Willie passed it to the wrong color one more time I was wondering it he needed his eyes checked. Ton of turnovers and he gets the team star. So confused. Maybe he was doing stuff when I had my eyes averted or watching the bench to amuse myself because we had keystone cops moments.
