UML 2012 Offseason Thread: "If this is a dream, don't wake me!"

Re: UML 2012 Offseason Thread: "If this is a dream, don't wake me!"

So what was discussed during the between the lines segment? Where they discussed the recruiting process. Anything to share with us? I am interested to hear what was expressed during that event...
Nothing specific. It was a beginner's guide more than anything else. Where we recruit from (the different leagues), who are incoming freshmen are, etc.

He did mention that they do prefer to bring in older players, which doesn't surprise me much.

Thanks so much!

Any details we didnt know about the Freshmen? Also, did he specify why he focuses on older players? Possible maturity thing, or we dont have the manpower to get the younger guys?

It sounds like Fr. Ryan McGrath will be fun to watch. Speedy, hard working with a scoring touch. Norm also mentioned that Riley Wetmore is the team captain again this season. The team voted on the alternate captains yesterday and they will be announced in a couple of days.

The formatting is bad but it is the Lowell Sun! http://www.lowellsun.com/umasstransformation

Marty has done a fantastic job raising the profile of the University and he cares. If you read all the articles in the Sun don't believe anything Hogan says as he didn't care about the students or the City when he was running ULowell. Enough of my negativity about "Dean Hogie" as we used to call him back in the day.

Back to hockey. Anything less than 5000 at the home opener will be a disappointment. UVM isn't exactly the biggest drawing team, but we all need to get to the Tsongas on October 12th.

UML Men's Soccer won again tonight, improving to 6-0-1 on the season, tying their best start ever. Unranked to start the season, they had jumped to #12 in the country earlier this week.

Surprised about the NESN issue... Youd think they'd prefer to broadcast from Tsongas

One of the Merrimack games is on CBSSN. Great; a channel I don't get.
Sunday, March 3 UMass-Lowell at Merrimack 4:00pm CBSSN

Which is interesting because the UML schedule says we play Merrimack on Saturday the 2nd at 7 PM...

Great, so we should expect another Sunday game now?

I also wonder what might happen if the lockout goes on... will NBCSN pick up games? That might give us some TV slots indirectly.

Is FS-Rocky Mountain not broadcasting DU games? Its a Friday night... you'd think they would

Last season NESN picked up a game or two as well. That I remember, I'm surprised after the season UML had in 2011-12 that we didn't get many national games or local games. Interesting.
