UML 2012 Offseason Thread: "If this is a dream, don't wake me!"

Re: UML 2012 Offseason Thread: "If this is a dream, don't wake me!"

56 Days. Time to stop lurking I guess.

Was curious about this statement in the facilities Q&A from goriverhawks.com

Does this mean above on the concourse level or will there be lost seats in that section?

Also: How long do they stay there once they realize Monty's voice will be heard on every single highlight.

I believe it will be on the concourse level. The only seats that may be lost are some ADA seats. As for Monty, set your DVR's when NESN is in town.

Great article in the Boston Globe Magazine about Marty Meehan and UML.

Really, its only a matter of time until we get a profile in the "Chronicle of Higher Education" (I think that's the name of the paper). they like schools on the move and new situations... and we've had enough time to percolate. (My division at work suscribes to that "paper".)

Going back to the early 90's, when I started following this program, we've had some good years, but there wasn't a buzz about this team (even in the mid-90s) on campus like there appears to be for this season coming up.

Just wondering, is the most excited you've ever been for a season to start for UML?

There's a lot to like about Lowell...

More seriously, it is just so awesome to have all the boats pulling in the same direction.

I'm excited, but oh so nervous... I remember how it was supposed to be and then Wally jumped ship... I remember how great it was supposed to be after the HE Championship game and then splat... I don't think I could survive another total melt down (and for this team, that is not getting home ice and making it back to the NCAAs)

Hoping this is the "Season of Meeting/Exceeding Expectations!" :D

Re: UML 2012 Offseason Thread: "If this is a dream, don't wake me!"

The summer between the jr-sr year of Godoy and that group was probably my most excited, untill now. That was until we learned Walter was going pro. That crashed quickly...very quickly.

Re: UML 2012 Offseason Thread: "If this is a dream, don't wake me!"

Wasn't that last year?

Now the expectations are real. The rest of Hockey East will definitely have a target on Lowell's back. Didn't think they'd finish higher than 7th or 8th last year, they certainly exceeded the low expectations I did have.

Game tickets for Denver are now available!
In addition, UMass Lowell will host a pair of early evening get-togethers prior to each game. On Friday night, fans can meet up at Spanky’s Roadhouse (1800 E. Evans Avenue, Denver) beginning at 5:00 PM. Before Saturday’s game, the River Hawk faithful are invited to join us at The Hatch Cover (252 E. Cheyenne Boulevard, Colorado Springs) just a few blocks from the World Arena at 4:30 PM.

What are Lowell fans' realistic expectations for this upcoming season?

Realistic? Home-ice in the HE playoffs (a requirement), make the Garden (would love to see it) and the NCAAs. It would be a severe disappointment (outside of major injuries) to not follow up last year's trip to the NCAAs, especially with how many players (and their level of play) are coming back.
