UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

UMass Lowell Pre-Game Headquarters
All fans headed to the game are encouraged to join us at Tiago's Bar and Grill in downtown Bridgeport beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24. Tiago's is located just three blocks from the Webster Bank Arena.
Tiago's Bar and Grill
211 State Street
Bridgeport, CT

This is different from last night I think?
It is, and not to be a downer, but was there briefly yesterday and it's smaller than Barnum's and that could be an issue. However, they actually had taps for beer, they didn't run out and they actually had staff behind the bar. This is ALSO different from last night.

Getting ready to leave soon, departure may be delayed an hour though as daughter might go now and not free of something she has until 1:00.

Tiago's received permission from city of Bridgeport to shut down the street on the side of bar. Was there for lunch and the street is already blocked. Kudos to Tiagos for getting it down. Should have no problem with large Lowell contingent....

Nice win UML, and the OT goal from a Vermont kid no less...

I figured the game was over after the hitting from behind penalty. That should have been two minutes, it was no different than then the hitting from behind penalty on Miami.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

Couldn't do it in OT tho. Had to watch live. Thought I choked on my heart. Looked around for the AED.

If today's game goes to OT, I have an advantage...I already have a defibrillator implanted in my chest.....;)

Thanks for the rep and the kind words.

Go Garnet!

Keith.

Here's one fan with no skin in the game pulling for you guys today.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

I'm assuming hokydad predicted a UML win tonight after his hilarious prediction that you guys had no chance against Miami?

Was pulling for you...especially against an ECAC foe. You did Hockey East proud this weekend.

What a game (that Union goalie has a bright future), what a season. Wow that was a fun year (minus the PC heartbreak and last night's heartbreak).

Anyone invent a time machine yet.. can we start the next season :) ...

Congratulations to Norm and the team on what they have accomplished, I doubt anyone but themselves thought they could get this far last October.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

Congrats to the team on a fantastic ride throughout the entire year!!! Just so proud of the program and school.

As for the weekend, CONGRATS to Union and hoping for very good results when my wife and I are down in Tampa for the F4.

Last bit - MAJOR kudos to:

1) The school administration for all the work this year and, of course, for organizing both gatherings at Barnum and Tiago. Both places (especially Tiago) were packed. Organizing that stuff isn't easy.

2) The alumni for showing up in force and making noise. For all of us it was a long time coming.

3) The band - now that is what it should sound like. :) Great job

4) Last but certainly not least, the students - not that they are reading this but they brought it all year and seeing how many students made the trek down was impressive. Nice Shovel - classic. Keep up the entertainment.

I agree. The band did an awesome job and sounded great and that was not even the complete band. It was my understanding that the NCAA would not allow them to bring in their electric gear to the event. No guitars or keyboards allowed. They just did it the old-fashioned way and rocked it. Even saw some people come up to Dan and Deb and congratulated them on one of the finest pep bands to play at the regionals.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

Great to see all the old regulars back. It was like old home day. Good to chat with everyone. Second the kudos by Lowell Fan 90 in all respects.
-I loved the hub- we won Friday and I went to the email, clicked the links and away we went. Class act and can't even begin to say how much it is appreciated the effort that has gone into the little details not just this weekend but during the season.
-The atmosphere was electric. The students were amazing leading the section and energizing us all even when things were grim. (An all you auxillary cowbell ringers- Yeaaaah~!) Having a section standing to cheer with 9+ minutes to go is amazing.
-Hogan wouldn't have been there with a bullhorn!
-It was nice meeting some of the player's parents. For those of you who are lurking- your guys are great!! Lefty's Mom- :D sad to see him be done but glad he scored while you were there.
-The band is unbelievable. They are incredible musicians and hysterically funny. We sit too far away to see some of the antics at the Tsongas Tsenter and that makes me sad.
-For the first time in a few years I can't wait for October!
