UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

All us down in Bridgeport can say...we nearly had a heart attack.

The only takeaway that I can think off the top was that someone nearly jinxed the game and chanted "Warm up the bus" 2 minutes into the third period.

Hopefully will go back tomorrow, supposed to go swimming with my girlfriend and few others. At the very least, I will try to condition myself to run up and down the UML crowd with the easy button :)

Um, no. Nothing matters tomorrow except going to the game. Get yourself and everyone else on that bus and get down there.

Union had a ton of fans at game one and they will give UML fans a run for their money in the game unlike the Miami fans. All hands (or fans) on deck tomorrow in Bridgeport! Get there anyway you can, rob your piggybank for a ticket at the window, etc. but get yourselves there!

In addition to the UML pregame event tomorrow, there's also a hockey block/street party adjacent to the arena at 4:00.

I have arranged for his paddling... Don't worry.

Good! And someone find Gumby and her costumed friend and get them down there tomorrow too...pitch in for their tickets and throw 'em in someone's trunk for the ride if you have to! It's not a UML game without them.

2.5 hours or so away beats being sent west for a regional. It's in your backyard, everyone get there! Lowell fans and band were amazing and loud tonight, need to double the numbers tomorrow!

Did anyone score a date with the blonde ice shoveling girl? She seemed to quite enjoy the attention all night.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

Awesome Win, love seeing Miami go down. Good luck today, Go Hockey East:)

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

Wowzers..

Can this day go any faster!... Can't Wait!!!

PS. The Sports Zone was rockin last night too.. Some of the regulars were a little confused since UML was on all but 1 TV.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

Great game.. what a fun coll hockey game to watch (easy for me to say) :)

Congrats Lowell, g'luck rest of the way.
I didn't think so. I think I swallowed my heart.

WOW! That was awesome!

We're working on getting you as much as info as possible as quickly as possible so stay tuned to GoRiverHawks.com.

As an FYI, we will be setting up shop at 4PM tomorrow at Tiago's in Bridgeport (just around the corner from the Publick House). Feel free to join. For those who can't make the trip, the Sports Zone in Dracut is proud to welcome you back for another night of River Hawk hockey!

Those of you who purchased through the school earlier in the week received a ticket to the Regional Championship game in your packet. Additional Saturday game tickets must be purchased through the Webster Bank Arena Box Office or Ticketmaster.com or 800-745-3000. Judging by size of overall crowd today and two less teams, your simplest way to pick up extra tickets may be to walk-up and skip those pesky TM convenience fees.

If you have any questions, you know where to ask.

-SD

PS How good was MR. Doug Carr tonight?
Wooohoo! And really appreciate all the info, organization etc. Class act!
Excellent victory!

Total gut check in OT...

Looking forward to a good, injury-free game tomorrow....

Keith.

This too! And lil all but died when I brought my cowbells. I wasn't the only one. The word on the street is no cowbells in the arena. Have to get creative. Gatorade/water bottles with a few pebbles in I think. I don't know how to clap. I was listening to Bob on my MP3 and was >8 seconds ahead. I would forget myself and get all excited before we were even up the ice. Couldn't do it in OT tho. Had to watch live. Thought I choked on my heart. Looked around for the AED.

This is where you get the Wizards of Smart screaming things like, "Heeeeeeyyyyyy...where's my meaningless pre-season baseball game?" or "Heeeeeyyyyyy...where's my college Lacrosse?"

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

Congrats to UML - I echo Walrus' sentiments - good to see Miami go down. I think that makes 6 or 7 times that a Hockey East team has beaten them in the post season.

This is when you buy them a beer and thank them for being such good sports about being inconvenienced.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

Congrats on the win, UML. What a turnaround season for you guys. Great to see Hockey East pulling in the W. Will be rooting for you guys to make it to Tampa.

Horns and bells got smuggled in successfully last night. Ushers even said last night that they didn't care but don't know about the guys at the door who check things, but stuff got in no problem last night.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

Just a range of emotions last night: the excitement pre-game with a packed UML bar, then starting off on fire, then seeing things start to change late in the second and getting nervous, then full-out disaster in the third, which only got worse with a 5-minute major, then a little hope with the kill and then the puck going in the net right in front of the Lowell fans. Amazing experience ... this is why I love sports.

Huge huge huge credit to the traveling Lowell contingent. Had a Union fan come up to me after the second and he said "****, you guys are bringing the noise, it's hard to even notice Miami has fans here."

Do it bigger and better tonight. And let's make the win a bit easier please!

Not much on the line except for our first ever D1 Frozen Four. Go Lowell!

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part III

Les, union fans had cowbells. Worth a shot. Parking lot isn't far from arena if they tell you no.
I got the word. I will be smuggling in a 'few'. (5) where there is a will there is a way. Hand em out after we get there to anyone who wants one.

Yeah, was great hearing the horns after the game was over. Need mohr cowbell!

I was very glad the EMTs were right under our section; the defibs were almost needed a few times in the third.

After Miami tied it, you could definitely tell there were fans there supporting them. Had to love our support though; that was incredible.

And let's make the win a bit easier please!
Hells yes, pls!
