Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

TIIL Two Minutes Hate ... apparently is upsetting the Miami fans that have no idea what the blog is about. This is just fun to read.

Hysterical as usual. Yes, Miami fans are taking it a tad too seriously and getting rather bent out of shape over it, their comments are almost as funny as the actual blog post. But at least our blog gets names and such correct unlike the WCPO.com ABC affiliate's blog out of Cincinnati that called us the Rivermen.

Will be fun to watch the Miami fans over the next day or so on the blog as they get all turned inside/out commenting on it.

Every fan base has people who take things a bit too seriously. FWIW, most of the Miami fans I've seen talking about it have had a good laugh over the whole thing, mostly because everything said in that article about Miami, we've said in jest about UML over the last few days.

The "of Ohio" shtick is tired and unoriginal, but the rest of the article was pretty **** funny. Unintentionally so with the right facing/left facing Hawk section, as we had a bit of an administrative crisis regarding the orientation of our logo last year.

Thanks for understanding. There are some bases in Hockey East that still get upset by TIIL, when it's just a humorous (and extremely biased) blog.

I wish I could curse on this board because only then could my appreciation of TIIL be adequately conveyed

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

Funny post, definitely enjoyed it. Makes more sense than buckeye fans making lord of the rings jokes ;).

but really... Roethlisberger is far from our most famous "alum". Hello, nick lachey :p

First, a reminder that shootouts don’t count toward your record as far as the NCAA is concerned.

With that disclaimer out of the way, Massachusetts-Lowell and Miami tied 4-4 in the only game they’ve played, a semifinal of the 2003 Nye Frontier Classic in Anchorage, Alaska.

The River Hawks advanced to the title game with a 4-2 shootout win.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

Is this the second rink they always talked about? If so, adjacent to Tsongas.
Agreed. Some of the work last summer should have been the re-engineering of the refrigeration system to accommodate the second rink. That second rink may allow even more dates to be sold at the Tsongas, or at least to inconvenience the team less when they do, like when the Dropkick Murphys were in town on St Patty's day.

No, this is an effort to expand and improve the training areas such as weight room, conditioning, etc. the team has inside Tsongas adjacent to the locker room area.

Do you know if they are still talking about a second rink?

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

So ... apparently there's a game tomorrow. ;)

3-2 Lowell wins and goes on to face Union.

Game? Really? Hmmm, should check that out. Honestly haven't thought about a prediction other than 'I'm probably going to lose my voice cheering for Lowell'.

Just went down and picked up my tickets at the Tsongas. :)
