Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

Aww... They fixed it. Just as I was getting Stockholm Syndromed into liking it.
Yeah, just noticed it. Coworker here knows someone at ESPN and inquired about it. I'd also sent a nastygram about it as did others I suspect.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

Seeing brackets popping up everywhere that expect us out after Miami.

Anyway, today's TMQ:
Jim: I think that the East Regional bracket in Bridgeport, Conn., might be the softest of brackets. Most people I’ve seen are picking Union there, but I think that this should be Miami’s region to lose. They will play a Massachusetts-Lowell team with zero NCAA experience and then face the winner of Union and Michigan State, a team that barely backed into the tournament. And yes, I’m realistic to the fact that all four of these clubs are solid but I believe there are few people out there who believe the national champion will come from this region.

But then he goes on to say:
OK, one last chance to put you on the spot. Who is your final four? I’ll be fair and start with mine: I have BC, Massachusetts-Lowell, North Dakota and Michigan. I think Lowell is really my only upset pick but I just feel that bracket is wide open.

A Boston based hockey reporter picking UML to go to FF?! Was that a pig I just saw fly by my window? Hey we'll take it thanks Jim! If we can get by Miami I'll really like our chances. Union's schedule is way too weak to be a #1 seed imo.

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

Some tweet's from the HE Coach's press conference today by Scott McLaughlin:
Bazin said there was a lot of rest during the week off from games, mostly because there was a bug running through the team.
Bazin said he's planning on Riley Wetmore playing.
Bazin said UML will have fan buses going to Bridgeport. Band and mascot going, too.

Jim Connelly is a Lowell alum.

This is great news.

Tickets are just $20 and include an All-Session Pass and a seat on the bus. The bus will leave Fox Hall promptly at 2:00 p.m. and will return to Lowell following Friday's game.

If the River Hawks reach the Regional Final on Saturday, a bus will leave Fox Hall again at 2:00 p.m. for those students who have purchased a ticket. Please note that if the River Hawks fall short of Saturday's final, transportation from Lowell will not be provided.

But I'll be there before 4. :p

Re: UML 2011-2012 Thread: Part II

The timing of the gathering in Bridgeport is weird. I'll be at the arena watching the first game by 4:00pm..

I had the same thought. If I'm paying $60 for a ticket to 3 games, I intend to watch 3 games.
