UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

I could be wrong, but I think Carmine is a BC fan.

If that is the fact, then my apologies for posting the comment on the UML thread and for the comment about Neb-Omaha. I have no axe to grind with UML but am sick of reading arguments that go in circles with no conclusive point from both sides.

We will just have to take care of his team in a couple of weeks. Again, sorry for the intrusion.

Missed this comment before I repped you. sorry. I am more than sick fo the idjits going on about UVM and UML. Maybe they should start their own thread so they can keep at it and the rest of us can move on.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Seems those that have been bashing Vermont all summer long are pretty quiet this morning......

Am looking forward to seeing the quality team UML is putting on the ice this year. They should be strong.

Am worried from an early persepective about Hockey East's out of conference strength as the teams went a combined 5 - 8, which will not be useful come NC$$ time.

Lets hope the league starts beating up on the OOC teams.

hey, look, the Baghdad Bob Squad has come to taunt us.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Despite all the bad blood between a few UML fans and a few of us UVM fans Iwas still rooting for UML to take the Icebreaker for the sake of the conference.

Good luck with the remainder of your OOC games, and against BU, BC, and UNH this season.

Unlike Snwbrdr, I really can't say I was rooting for you guys to take the Icebreaker, even if it might ultimately help us. Although not all of you are guilty, several of you spent the summer in our thread belittling our accomplishments. Well that vaunted defense that we've heard so much about just gave up 4 goals to a weak opponent! Meanwhile, our team, who according to you, would be lucky to score a goal maybe every third game this year, put up 10 against the #1 team in the country on the road!

Sorry to have to do this, but there are a few of you who truly deserve it. :D

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

you guys are aware it's october 11, right?

I am aware of the date, not sure what it has to do with anything, but yes its Oct. 11th. The day after UVM beat the #1 team in the country scoring 6 goals with out Viktor Stalberg:eek: , and the day after UML's spectacular defense gave up 4 goals to unranked UNO....

Mark it down, because when the at large bids come out and UML missed it again because of their OOC record, you can refer back.

remember, too, UMass beat North Dakota this time last year, and dropped two to Merrimack later on. BU also lost to UMass 5-1 early in the season.

doesn't make lowell's loss any more acceptable, but it sure makes vermont's crowing about it look even more foolish

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Look ... the UVM idiots have come out of the closet. You really should have stayed in. We all knew.

BTW, I hate to be THAT guy, but I honestly don't care that Lowell lost. The US is going to the World Cup! Woohoo!!!

Tough loss for the Hawks last night. Two weeks to stew... I honestly feel bad for Colgate.

What's your point and what exactly does that have to do with the fact that's its Oct. 11th. You seem to assume that some people think a UML loss to UNO means the end for them and a UVM win at DU means they are going to win the NC. That's not the case, but 10 goals against the number 1 team in the country should squash some of the question as to UVM being able to score after the departure of Stalberg, and a loss to UNO is something that should open McDonald's eyes because unless he is banking on winning the HE championship, the NCAA's become tough with losses to unranked OOC opponents.

hey here's a question: what happened to that defense i heard so much about, the one that's better than lowell's? it's on 4.5 goals allowed per game.

(see how easy it is to make a big deal out of largely insignificant things two games into the season?)

Yup they buckled down and gave up 4 goals to one of the most potent offenses in the nation. One of which was a deflection off a skate, and bad puck luck, but that happens. Its DU, a good defense is going to give up 3-4 goals. So not only is it insignificant, but its not really even that bad of thing. Its not like they gave up 4 goals to UNO or something.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

I'd like to thank the hearty UML fans who made the trek to Omaha. All the ones I encountered were spirited and cool. I hope our teams will cross paths again.

From what I saw, UML has a great deal of talent and moved the puck crisply and well. Falite is obviously great fun to watch.

I've always admired Blaise MacDonald coached teams, and this one is no exception. Dean Blais said you're worthy of your ranking and I think that's true. UNO caught a couple of good bounces, to say nothing of the pipe the Hawks hit so hard it ricocheted out of the zone late in the third.

You guys are going to do some damage down the road, and UML's presence in the building helped make the Ice Breaker a great tournament to watch. Thanks for sending us your guys.

Rick

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE

COMMISSIONERS CORNER with Joe Bertagna said:
Hockey East fans will have another new feature before long. Since the end of last season, the ten Hockey East athletic directors voted to install video replay equipment at all ten arenas. Some are up and running and the rest will be before the end of October. Each rink will be equipped with overhead cameras above the goals and a center ice camera to give officials multiple angles on all goals. Only the referee can initiate a replay and he will be governed by NCAA rules as to what he can review. A monitor at ice level will allow him to see the different camera angles as well as the time on the clock. There are also audio capabilities to assist in those situations where hearing a whistle could affect the outcome of a play. This should be a great tool for all officials in their quest to “get it right.”

**** this league

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Any idea why Schaus didn't make the trip on the weekend? He must have really ticked of Blaise.

BTW: Can the UVM fans please leave this thread until November? Much appreciated.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

echoing Gainzo- and the beanhead that keeps trolling in their thread to start them up- leave em alone. Getting to the point I don't want to look at this thread because of the crud b/w VT folks and the idiots that PO them. Not amusing anymore.
