Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

I work with a guy who works part time at Tsongas and he worked the Devils game last night and said the ribbon is in place. I guess the ribbon doesn't go all the way around from what he told me. We will have to see for ourselves Saturday night.
As I mentioned before, I hope they get a good crowd in for the game. It would be nice to keep the average over 4,000.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Tonight was a perfect example of why this team (where it is now) is nowhere near where they need to be for a deep playoff run.

- Lowell was dramatically outworked on all three of UMA goals.

- Nevin Hamilton was the only reason Lowell had a chance to win this game, especially early...it could have been 4-0 in the first period if not for Hamilton.

- When you tie a game with 5:00 minutes left and then go on the power play, you have to come up with a better effort and result than was was shown

- The unnecessary penalties finally got Lowell a game they should have taken points.

- All of the pressure is now on Lowell tomorrow night. If Lowell wins tomorrow night, Lowell splits the weekend, win another season series, and the Alumni Cup. I'd really have to say that tomorrow is a must-win for home ice in the playoffs.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Going by bucky's comments. There is no reason a Lowell team should EVER be outworked... That's a point of pride if nothing else... I want to spit nails each time that score line comes across the ESPNU ticker... there is no excuse for a Lowell team to not be working harder than the opponent... That's what we do

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

I was very surprised to see Hamilton in net tonight. I know the usual rotation is Hutton on Friday and Hamilton on Saturday, and although Hamilton historically plays UMass well he did give up 4 goals against Northeastern last game, and I expected Hutton. Anybody else surprised by this, and do you expect Hutton in the next game?

You have your information all wrong. It was Hutton who played against NU last weekend and let in 4 goals while Hamilton played Friday versus UNH.

Yes your right my mistake. Actually now thinking about it and knowing that Hutton played against UNH, which I should have known this made sense in terms of rotation. I guess they wanted the guy with the better numbers against the better team, which made sense especially since they took 3 out of 4 points. Hamilton looked well tonight though, like someone mentioned earlier it could have been 3 or 4 to 0 UMass after 1, but he played well and gave Lowell a chance to win. Can't fault him on any of the goals just defensive letdowns in front.
