Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

I'm hoping there's still a good crowd on Sunday, filled with Lowell fans, but having a game starting right when the Pats game is ending might hurt a bit.

Agree, plus it's a tv game too (ESPNU).

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

BTW, great to hear about the younger Eiserman. And if the third brother wants to join too ... :)

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Lowell moves up to 8th with their weekend split, while BU falls from 4th to 7th.

Edit to add: With the commitments that have come in for the next three seasons so far, the attendance rising again, the play on the ice ... I don't remember the last time I looked at this program and honestly felt that things have not only gotten good now, but look possibly even brighter in the future. Amazing.

BTW, not sure if Chris' site is right, but he's got Massie listed returning as a junior next season. I have a feeling he'd come in as a soph, since he only used one semester of eligibility, but I'm not sure. If Heisenber is right, that puts young Chris Eiserman as a freshman in 2012 with Massie having graduated and Boulanger a junior.

I'd agree that Massie would be a soph but I would also say that you have 5 years to play 4 and his clock started when he stepped onto the UML campus. He'll have 3 years left to play and not 3.5.

That sounds more like what I had figured.

So we'll have a senior in Massie in 2012, a junior in Boulanger and a frosh in Eiserman. If the two upperclassmen do well, the kid will have a year to learn and will probably be given a shot to win the starting spot in his sophomore year. Of course, if he's as good as advertised, it might be earlier.

It looks like the defense and goaltending is in good shape recruiting wise. Now it's time to find a couple of goal scorers (snipers).

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Don't know if anyone saw this, but a nice article about the two Merrimack Valley rivals that was put up late last week here on USCHO.
Merrimack will be dangerous this year. They have brought in some kids that know how to put the puck into the net. Their defense should be solid as well.

They've always had some talent; they've just never had enough to overcome their lack of self-discipline.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Well a) that's totally untrue since there was that year they scored like 29 goals And b) they have NEVER had talent like this. I've seen them three times this year and they're excellent in all three zones.

Agreed. I'm hoping recruits like Eiserman (both of 'em really) help bring in other high level kids that know them and want to play with them.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Just saw that Mr Mullet himself, Barry Melrose, will be doing the colour commentary on ESPNU Sunday. I'm ticked I won't be there to razz him a little bit :)

I'm glad I'll be watching the game live than listening to his 'wisdom'.

I hope that people around/on campus know this game's on TV. C'mon students, you can get painted up and get your faces on national TV. Just show up! :D

Most of the kids who go home on the weekends should be back by 5 on Sunday (I hope). Did you see those guys who painted their chests blue last Friday? If they make it back they will most certainly get on TV.
