UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Lowell needs to stay out of the box and stop allowing teams to score goals right after we do... Other than that, it was the 3rd worst outcome for the weekend. Need to play 60 minutes night in and night out, starting Friday @ UVM.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

As disappointing as last night's loss was, this win has to be a big sigh of relief to the players, coaches, and its fans. There is no such thing as a "worst outcome" when you split a series w/BU and more importantly, ensure that the season tiebreaker will be determine in February on our home ice. These teams showed why they are #4 and #9 in the nation. I'd be very surprised if these numbers change at all next week because the net is zero. Two games over .500 is a nice place to be, especially when this team is known for slow starts and where two of those games were against BU.

You can't fault the effort of these two teams this weekend because quite frankly, these were two playoff games in October. The bottom line was that they finally held a two goal lead. Yes, the offensive zone penalities in the third weren't very smart. The freshmen combo of Wetmore and Wright really look impressive at this early point of the season. Auger looks like a completely different player.

Hockey East as a whole this year is shaping up to be quite open, interesting, and competative this year. Any HE team can win any game and you just have to go out and play. Looking forward to the Vermont road trip next week and with a good showing, I'm hoping we can get another 5000+ for the UNH game on National TV a week from Sunday. Those games aren't going to be easy but should be on a high note after this group finally won at BU in the regular season for the first time in a few years.

VIVA L'ALLIANCE!!!!!!11!!!!111!

BTW: Not only did the announcer at Schneider refer to the Minutemen as "UMASS Lowell" about 3 times yesterday, but the UMASS radio team did the same thing tonight for some reason.

Well, right now that would be advantageous.

Maybe they're practicing for when the UMA hockey program is removed for being substandard and too expensive leaving UML the only D1 program in the UMass program. :D :p

It was fairly lame when the guy at PC did it, but the actual Minutemen broadcast team?!?!?

*shrugs* Really have no idea. Seems to be happening a lot this year. Maybe we're on everyone's mind?

I didn't hear it. Maybe they got confused because we were losing?;)

Edit- The worst I remember was going to a game at Agganis last year. I bought tickets online and I saw "UMass-Lowell @ Boston University" and thought I bought tickets for the wrong game, but checked and the date was right.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

Jon, I trust you, but I didn't hear that on the broadcast.

We do have a new radio play-by-play guy, but that's just inexcusable if it did happen. Color me confused.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread

I won't be able to make the UNH game on Sunday as I will be in Foxboro. If anyone wants the tickets (2) and parking pass let me know. I don't want any money for them.

Unfortunately, I'm in the same situation. No pass though.

I'm hoping there's still a good crowd on Sunday, filled with Lowell fans, but having a game starting right when the Pats game is ending might hurt a bit.
