Thanks dhmn . . . great pic of Haley - as always!!!! Why does it seem like her accomplishments have snuck up on me?? Haley's maturation as a player over her tenure at UMD has been huge. There was a day when all she did was skate around with the puck and then shoot . . . now . . . well, it's changed in almost every conceivable way. Again - great job Haley!!!

Her freshman year she attempted the same move every time to try and get around defenders.. I think some of the shoulder injuries she's had really changed her game ... she rarely winds up for a slap shot anymore.. and a lot of times when she does she doesn't end up shooting, she'll stop and try to do something else instead. Hoping that the emotion/aggression channeled by the Mankato series carries through to a playoff run.. need to sweep Ohio State (already lost twice to them this season) then find a way to beat Wisconsin at Amsoil Arena to be sure to get a NCAA spot. I would expect them to end up in Minneapolis should that happen, the NCAA trick of pairing Minnesota/Wisconsin/UMD in a quarterfinal match so only two make the Final Four.

Assuming that the semi would be against Wisconsin. If either SCSU or BSU pull an upset, then you wouldn't. And yes, it is theoretically possible that MSU could win a series over the Badgers, but I suspect the odds are better that we see a locust plague in Duluth in two weeks.

Just a reminder that the playoff series is 3 pm Friday, 3:30 pm Saturday, then if needed 3 pm Sunday. If the high school section semi-finals run into overtimes in the morning it could make it a little later Saturday but shouldn't affect it too much aside from not being able to clean Amsoil Arena between games.

It better not get too much later on Saturday, given that there is a men's game that night. Can't you just imagine the outcry from that direction if OSU and UMD were to go about four OTs.

I'm not terribly influenced by the assessment of a man who sends disgusting pictures of girls menstruating to other members of this forum, as well as any other over the top harassment you partake in.
Coach Mean used some pretty strong language while fans and young girls were still in the stands and could hear that he wished ill-will on a Bulldog player. This has nothing to do with my assessment of anybody player in the league. Or your opinion since you weren't there.

No kidding. Especially since it's the last home game of the season. It's going to be a lot of hockey this weekend.
Questions: Why don't they use the DECC arena for the High School games? Is it too much to get the concessions up and running over there and then have to have them open for the men's game (and now the women's). Also, how will this affect the ice?

I'm curious if anyone who was there on Friday can describe the events leading up to, at the time of, and immediately after the altercation? Did Smith get all the penalties with a single action, or were there seperate instances? Just the facts, ma'am...or man (Dragnet reference).

Do the men do their senior recognition before or after the game? Most places do it before, but I remember at least one year when UMD did their women's Senior Night festivities post game.

Since this is a forum which often has opinions of members posted to various threads, I posted my opinion that the critique of MSU coach Means is at minimum at least as questionable as the implied questionable nature of his coaching skills. You can fabricate all the BS you want...as you did to begin your response in attempts to discredit and or censor my opinion. You will have little success in stopping me from posting an opinion as I see fit. As per previous assessments of players by you and JPS, it speaks directly to questionable credibility and objectivity, therefore is relevant in my estimation.

Sadly, I cannot. I saw the 2nd major . . . when Smith hit Cournoyer - who then hit a MSU defender who then banged into the goalie. It was all so odd . . . I mean the game was over and I think, most people were pretty much not watching anymore . . . even more odd, no UMD retaliatory penalties. That fact alone tells me that it came out of the blue. It just didn't make sense. As someone else told it to me - Smith hit Irwin and then went after Cournoyer. It didn't make sense.
