Seeing that upcoming schedule doesn't give me much faith that this team isn't going to add to the "worst seasons" in program history.Bad: This is the 5th time Lowell has been shutout in back-to-back games.
Worse: The previous 4 times were among the 14 worst seasons in program history.
1991-92 (11-19-4 - 12th worst in program history)
2005-06 (14-20-2 - 14th worst in program history)
2010-11 (5-25-4 - worst in program history)
2023-24 (8-24-4 - 3rd worst in program history)
They better hope they draw Yale if they want a win in this stretch. After tomorrow, the upcoming schedule is absolutely brutal. BC x 2, Maine, Minnesota State, St. Cloud/Yale, UConn x 2, BU x 2, Maine x 2, UMass x 3.
Yale just beat Omaha. They better hope they draw Yale if they want a win in this stretch.
Whoops. And they beat QU earlier this month. Guess I’ve been blind to the Bulldogs. River Hawks are porked.Yale just beat Omaha.
This team was 13-4-2 after Palm Springs last year, including wins over BU, UConn, and BC. But they weren't competitive.Time for Norm to go we haven't been competitive in a few seasons and it looks like it's getting worse
How they finish. This team was 13-4-2 after Palm Springs last year, including wins over BU, UConn, and BC. But they weren't competitive.![]()
That wasn't what you said. You said they haven't been competitive in a "few seasons", and I pointed out that they were more than competitive for the 1st half of last season (before the injury bug hit them hard). How they finish.
Who else other than Mirko and Nemec got hurt after the break? Mirko missed a couple games and Nemec missed a month. They’re both very good players but if a season derails because those two miss a handful of games, is it fair to say the roster wasn’t strong on the whole and perhaps they overachieved in the first half? Last years second half was a monumental collapse in my opinion. We saw a similar collapse in the second half of the 2018/2019 season. This program has been treading water for a while now and while I’m aware of what this program was before Norm, fans have the right to be restless at this point. That wasn't what you said. Mirko missed 4 games with a concussion (and did not play much in his 1st game back), and Nemec missed 10. As for who else was out? Welsch was hurt. Halasz played 7 games in a row from late January into much of February (Maine, PC x2, BC, Merrimack, Vermont, UConn) and after the first few did not do well. Welsch carried them in the first half, but when he was hurt, Halasz was clearly not capable of carrying this team for a month with no rest, especially with offense at a premium since 2 of your top scorers were also out.Who else other than Mirko and Nemec got hurt after the break?
