UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

Lowell wins 3-2.

No luck finding highlights for the final. But two tournaments entered, two wins.

Huge home series with Maine this weekend. They lost to Denver the first night, but did win last night at Alfond.

Did many UML fans travel to the games? Doesn't feel like this tournament sees a second year given attendance was so low.

Judging by this photo it looked like a good amount. Possibly more than I recall seeing at Lake Placid. It's an 11,000 seat arena, so its not surprising it would look near empty.

Tough loss to end a home winning streak for MBB last night. Hopefully hockey can provide some respite this weekend.

Attendance was on par with the Lake Placid Tournament. It will see a 2nd year, and I've been told that we're hosting it once again.

Disappointing result, but you can see the talent Maine has. And their netminder is damn good.

Yes, a tough hard-fought loss. Maine does a nice job along the boards winning puck battles. I think Henry Welsch would like to have that first goal back. Hopefully the Hawks can get the split tonight.

Any information on Libor Nemec? He's missed the last two games. I know he left the MTU game in the 3rd period with a apparent leg injury, but he did return to finish the game.

Yikes, this reminds me of the home game against BU. Men against boys out there.

Tough to win games when you are already missing 2 of your top 3 scorers... and the forth is immediately assessed a major w game misconduct..... but i think the teams played admirably in the second and third. With the team at full strength, they definitely can compete with Maine, BC, and the like.

I'm glad they eventually started to figure out how to play hockey on Saturday night, because being outshot at one point 22-4 at home is utterly embarrassing. I didn't see the Truman hit, so have no comment on that. Rough weekend. I can see though why Maine is in first place, great defense and fantastic goalie ... they remind me of Lowell when Bazin originally took over, you're just going to have a ridiculously hard time scoring on them. When you only give up four goals (not including the EN) and still get swept in a weekend, that's rough.
