A lot of sloppy play in defensive zone today. Those two goals by Uconn at the end of the 2nd were killers. I'm not sure you can blame Boyle for some of the goals.

UConn 2 for 2 on the PP.
The Hawks 0 for 2 at the XL Center

All right lets not get crazy folks. It's 2 losses on the season. CT was dues for a win and we were due for a loss. It's hockey east anyone can beat anyone. Muster up a top effort tomorrow to rebound in style and this will just be a blip on the radar.

I know but "blips" like these added up last year and did them in when NCAA time rolled around.

Yeah, wasn't able to see the game today, finals start Monday, but sure it's not just on him. But he going at an unsustainable rate for the first 10 games or so. Even with great improvement he is going to be a .925 goalie. With that considered, more goals need to come.

Absolutely, it is not the end of the world. However games like this end up being the difference between being a high seed and staying east, or going west. Or as with last season, the difference between making the tournament and not. Speaking only for myself, games like this end with either an exhale of relief, or a feeling in the pit of my stomach this might come back to bite us

Fun Fact of the Day: in both of Lowell's losses, the GWG has been a PP goal with Mueller in the box.

On a more positive note, ignoring the game, it was great to see all the players out on the ice on the free skate. Some of the guys are really awesome with kids. They are all so gracious. Their little team impact player is a riot!

Wasn't it last year when the donned those ugly grey sweaters that they went south?? I tell you they should have a big cookout next game with a bon-fire to burn those ugly things once and for all.

Not a lot to cheer about. Actually the crowd was pretty good. A lot better than I expected considering the early start, the weather outside and the game being on NESN.

Yeah, I guess I didn't hear the usual vigor out of the student section during introductions and that's what gave birth to the post. Sounded like an Early January game to me over the radio.

Well that was certainly a craptacular weekend. I truly hope these two losses don't come back to haunt them when they just barely don't make the NCAAs again this year.

The other games that have me worried are the two vs. Arizona State and the AIC game. Perfect storm on the horizon unless they learn to win the games they should and have to win.

And yes, can we please ditch the ugly third jerseys once and for all. 0-2 in them and the next time they try a third jersey, get a bit more creative than just slapping the logo on the front and calling it a day.

Can anyone explain why the 2 min penalty for a hand pass? I understand stopping play and bringing the puck out though I have never seen anyone get 2 min for it.
