Re: UMass Lowell 2014-2015 Season: The March to March

they did **** like that earlier in the game... like putting in WCAP things in the middle of play... of course what's probably going on is the station is run by a couple of people and their opinions will be whatever they are.
I noticed that too. I should really start streaming except then I have to tote the laptop from room to room. They are good for at least 1 good screw up a game, if they manage to get it on the air. (Of course there was the Nashua firefighter/policemen hockey game instead a few times ago. At least they preempted the stream for hockey :p )

What a crap call by the refs in overtime!!!!hockeyeast is fixed.
Refs let a lot of stuff go in the third.

However the call in ot was at least boarding of not that then hitting from behind or roughing. The golden child was a good 3 ft of the board when Campbell hit him square in the numbers. It was a soft hit but none the less it was on the numbers :/ a dangerous area.

That last pp goal bothered me less than the other two. That far post is wide open as Boyle pushes of his line and the D-man ranges up to the guy in front.

I was thinking about that... I'm surprised there aren't more "airplay" type radio devices out there. The only thing I can think of is that nobody wants to write the software.

edit: this is more of a tech comment. i have a reciever and all the other stuff... I'm amazed how much the interoperability hasn't advanced except without being really annoying.

Bob still not convinced. Jimmy didn't see it. Would have been easier if it was someone else on BU that scored. I am tired of hearing about BU like no one else is on the ice but him. I am sure he is amazing but it always aggravates me when any one player/ participant in an event is the only thing they talk about.

If it makes you feel better he was mostly invisible for 60 out of the 61 minutes. Even his assist in the first was marginal. Lowell did a good job of taking him out of the play.

Bob very unhappy with the refs in this one for the last penalty... would love to hear from the rest of you guys. Bob seemed to imply that they were letting a lot of stuff go throughout the 3rd.

If you're implying the OT penalty, call me biased, but that was right in front of me and was a blatant hit from behind/board/charge. He had plenty of time to stop and instead trucked right into Eichel. At the very least, even if Jack turned, it's a charge as he took multiple strides before making contact.

I bow to those who were there. Seems from the various commentary on FB there was a lot let go and this call was incongruent with what had been called earlier in the game.

I just feel bad for the rest of the team that obviously has to be on the ice to have a game but never gets any notice. I would hate to be any of those players' family or friends.

I feel the same when they pick one person in gymnastics, swimming, skiing, baseball etc and focus on them rather than on what is happening.

They called it loose in general, but there were no penalties of that kind not called. It was mostly stick infractions and interference-type penalties that were let go.

In my opinion our PK lost this game. As Patronik said, giving up a goal in 3/4 is not close to good enough.

The 3rd goal we let in at the end of the 2nd was a hearbreaker. Lowell probably wins if they don't give that up.

Very entertaining game. My first away game at Agganis. Very impressed with the facility.

I was doing a bunch of stuff around the house so was only half listening. I heard a lot of 'why wasn't that a call' but didn't know what they were referring to.

I'm not sure what they were referring to, it was a very well-officiated game both ways. Your PxP guy is hardly unbiased, to say the least.

That's pretty much how I saw it. A tough penalty to take at that time of the game.

Re: UMass Lowell 2014-2015 Season: The March to March

That was frustrating. When in overtime against BU, it's probably best not to board the golden boy Eichel or he is liable to score the winning goal. Agganis is quite the facility. I do prefer the home crowd in Lowell, a touch more heart up there.

Re: UMass Lowell 2014-2015 Season: The March to March

If a Lowell kid got hit like Eichel did in OT your play-by-play guy would have wanted five.

UMass with a good pickup.

96 D William Lagesson (@FightingSaints) commits to UMass. Edmonton's 4th round pick in 2014 is a 6'2, 2-way addition for this fall. Big get.

Lagesson also skated for Sweden in the #WJC this year. #UMass
