UMass with a good pickup.

96 D William Lagesson (@FightingSaints) commits to UMass. Edmonton's 4th round pick in 2014 is a 6'2, 2-way addition for this fall. Big get.

Lagesson also skated for Sweden in the #WJC this year. #UMass

Mind boggling on a couple of levels.

Re: UMass Lowell 2014-2015 Season: The March to March

In my opinion our PK lost this game. As Patronik said, giving up a goal in 3/4 is not close to good enough.

The 3rd goal we let in at the end of the 2nd was a hearbreaker. Lowell probably wins if they don't give that up.

Very entertaining game. My first away game at Agganis. Very impressed with the facility.

This.
Not sure what was going on but that penalty kill was awful. Just never should have been an OT.
That said, it was a clear cut boarding call and I'm not sure what Bob is talking about. Eichel really was quiet all night and not much of a factor but if you're going to make a stupid penalty like that and then have the puck land on golden boy's stick... well, he's going to hurt you a lot of the time.
I had no problem with the refs at all, this game goes right down to an inability to defend a man down. 3/4 is just absurd.

The jersey is just ok, nothing special. I will not be buying one of those.
In my opinion, the best jersey that they have worn would be the blue one with the diagonal Lowell on it.

Or even a riff on that... but you know the branding department won't let us use "Lowell" as a standalone.

edit: is that ScottK?

edit: #2... yeah, I think if its going to be a non-UML color I'd go with a black jersey and the "Lowell" diagonal. Leave it up to the powers that be whether or not use the same font but I like the drop shadow element in the old school design. Striping I'd leave it to the designers.

All they did was slap a River Hawk logo on the front of a grey jersey. It just looks like it's missing something.

I think they look like pajamas but Mr les says they are better in person

skill?

edit: if this were still last decade, I wouldn't try to force it... but including the latin state motto... I don't know... sleeve to collar piping... color1-color2-color1 pattern... that on one sleeve "University of Massachusetts Lowell" on the other sleeve the motto

Yeah, I think I'm going a tad overboard now. If you're going to make a 3rd, make it slick as balls.

I like the jersey. Nice to see a new color. And something that doesn't say "UMass" is a plus.

I wasn't "wowed" but it does look better in person and I think it will grow on me. Lots of athletic garb and shoes have that silver/grey base that serves as a background and makes the other colors "pop". As long as they beat PC while wearing it I'm good! The party was really cool. Kudos to Marketing for putting on a good show. My daughter and her friend modeled old school 70's jerseys and had a blast.

Jerry York is right about logos on the front of college jerseys sucking.

Completely disagree. I think they look sharp, and the River Hawk logo is better than having UMass on the front.

Re: UMass Lowell 2014-2015 Season: The March to March

The Alliance is on hold this weekend. PC comes to Tsongas Friday with 12 points in 11 league games, Lowell has 18 in 12. PC has lost their last two games, but had won 6 straight prior to that. Gillies is having another good season, with a 95.5% save rate and 1.52 GAA in HE play, but he's only 5-5 ... showing that PC doesn't score much. Providence has only scored 19 goals in league play (worst in the league), but given up only 15 (easily the best in HE). Lowell's only given up 22 in league play, but scored 42. So expect a low scoring couple of games between these two.

In Lowell's fight to stay in first, their co-HE leader is heading up to UVM for two this weekend.
