Fantastic!

Just looking up his starts, a 2.53 isn't as good as I'm sure he'd like it, but his 92.3% save rate is the third best in the league of any goalie who has played over 20 games. He has the second most saves in the AHL, as he's facing over 30 shots per game as well. His record is 13-9-1 (OTL). The team is 13-16-5. Tells you a lot.

supposedly he started kinda crappy.... so without re-running numbers I'd guess it's more like 2.1-2.2 since he got acclimated.

edit: 2.30 and 93.0% since November 1. He gave up a couple of bad games in a row after 11/1... but then one can play the cherry picking game forever.

edit: ah hell, why not... since 11/11... 2.03 and 93.7%

Imagine if he stayed one more season? I'm glad he's doing as well as he is. He was definitely ready for the next level.

Back to CT this weekend for the Hawks, with one game in Hartford against UConn. Hawks have now won 6 in a row, outscoring opponents 27-12.

BTW, if you haven't noticed, NU's starting to find it's form. Kinda glad we played them earlier in the season now.

Uconn is playing the night before against Army at West Point. Hopefully the UML can take advantage of having extra rest. I'm interested to see how NU does against BC. Not only was it good for Lowell to face them early when they were struggling, but they have helped the league out with some big NC victories.

Agree about the weekend series between NU and BC. They also play the first night of the Beanpot which should be a good tournament this year with all the teams playing well.

The Hawks just need to take care of business against UConn. I wonder what the crowd will be like at Hartford with the Patriots playing Saturday.

Most sections have only single seats available. I was hoping to get better seating for pictures vs. what school has for tickets but we would have had to sit in the upper section to get three tickets together.

Just got back from outer baltimore... UML MBB 73, UMBC 61 OT.

The final... doesn't describe it. UMBC looked the better often but we hit shots when we needed. Lowell took a lot of fouls including the star rookie who got his fourth with 5:30ish left and then proceeded to play the final 10:30 without incident.

Two league wins against weak opponents and each with their own issues.

Good for them. They finished 10-18 last year, and are already at 8-7.

On a different note, how quickly both basketball teams are doing well, the men's soccer team, volleyball ... just love to see it.

A little off-topic, but interesting: Meehan vows to stay put at UML

nice little vote of confidence from the head man himself... I don't think any of us took the idea that he was going to take the reigns and run with it all that seriously. We all figured he'd be out the next time an opportunity presented (senate, govenor... whatever).

Meehan vows to stay put at UML

For your sake I hope he is more sincere in his current pledge than he was with the lies he told about not running for Congress.

I've always called him "Lyin' Marty" but I think Chuck Murray copyrighted that term for somebody a bit north of you guys
