What an absolutely brutal second period by Lowell. They had a two goal lead and gave it away with two of the stupidest penalties I have ever seen.

I thought Northeastern sucked? They're not playing like a zero win team. They've been lucky but also taking advantage of plenty of opportunities.

Northeastern is getting their doors blown off 5x5. If Lowell stops committing stupid penalties they'll be fine. Coaching staff owes Boyle an apology for that horrendous too many men call. Absolutely no reason for that to happen.

did I just hear "sit down, *****"... when did we become Amherst? Seriously need to start cleaning this stuff up... even if this means clearing out the student section for a few games (or charging them money).

if you can't handle the privilege, you lose it.

Didn't we have this discussion last year?

Re: UMass Lowell 2014-2015 Season: The March to March

You mean last week?

last several years.

That was ugly. The linesmen and refs were ridiculously inconsistant. The too many men penalty confused me. I didn't see anything different than has been happening all yr. I though there were calls that were missed and some that were "huh??" worthy including the last one on NU.

I think it looked like we forgot that you have to show up to win. Ugly hockey by both teams.

Eddie Walsh is doing his job with NU's goalie. He was great. Boyle let out rebounds that scared me silly. The little kid in front of me asked his dad why he was doing that :p

Re: UMass Lowell 2014-2015 Season: The March to March

Nice response by Lowell in the third after a tough goal on Boyle. That's the kind of shot last season that would have no chance at going in. Can't fault Boyle for the first two.

I thought Forney and Mueller were both really bad tonight. Both had trouble handling the puck at the point, both held the puck way too long before shooting it into the shins of the defender and both took stupid penalties.

I'm going to have nightmares about missing wide open nets. How many was that? Four or five? Chapie's going to be sick abou his two that he shot wide.

Thank God for AJ White.

Y'all should be forced to drop hockey!!! Giving up a pt to nu, jfc

Agreed about the second period and the first part of the third period - UML was skating like they had 10 lb ankle weights. Thankful for the two 5v3 PP opportunities as they were needed; especially with the numerous open net chances that were not finished off.

Great second period for the Hawks. 3-0 after two. Lowell has allowed NU just 10 shots through 2.

Re: UMass Lowell 2014-2015 Season: The March to March

Great response tonight by the Hawks. Heard this from Bob today, Lowell is now 66-2-1 under Bazin when up by 2 goals during a game. Obviously, last night was the tie. They lost to Providence and Vermont, both on the road, the latter in OT.

Congrats to Smith on his first shutout.
