Just realizing that we could be waking up one week from today ... and Lowell might be playing in the National Championship game that night.

Dream big...

the thought that you could be falling asleep one week from today with Lowell as the national champions is also a good one

Slightly impossible, at least without the Doctor's help. 8 days from now, though.....

I don't think we have to dream

Not sure what to do with myself this weekend. It's been all Lowell hockey the last 3 weeks, be it in Lowell, Boston or Manchester.

I've already done everything at home I neglected over the last 3 weeks. Thursday can't come soon enough!

Temporary hibernation?

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

I'm wondering how the week off impacts Yale and UML. Lowell didn't really have any injuries to heal, did Yale have anyone get roughed up in their regional?

I can't believe we're really going to Pittsburgh. If you're a Lowell fan on the fence about going, go! The program seems to be on a path where we may go to more Frozen Fours in future years, but you just never know. I saw UML still has 100 tickets available and there are a bunch on StubHub. Come on down, folks!

Indeed! I'm in Nantes, France now and will be in London Thursday and Friday, but I set my DVR to record the games Thursday. I'll be flying home from Dublin Saturday, getting home in time to zip through the Thursday games to set up a live viewing of whomever versus whomever. I'm decidedly NOT going to spoil things for myself, so I will steer clear of this site and all other college hockey news and watch it all unfold for me when I get home.

But back to your point: for those who have the means to go, DO IT! Pittsburgh is an easy drive, relatively speaking. Look at all the college hockey schools that captured lightning in a bottle once and thought they could do it again...yet never did. Lake Superior State to name one, and I guess Maine for another.

I guess you're off the hook since there's a pretty big pond in between Europe and Pittsburgh to cross over...

Found this on the UMassHoops messageboard. Love it.

Heard a spot on WBZ this afternoon and they had a sound bite from Marty Meehan, they have brains as well. He gets that athletics are part of the equation of building a better school as a whole.

The way the current administration is steering the ship we are headed right towards a large iceberg called UMass-Lowell. Think of what could happen if Lowell does their D1 upgrade right and starts having more athletic success than UMass, could turn US into the hyphen. Shocked

I saw this one on the same site.
If Lowell keeps this up over the next few years and UMass continues to flounder, the Board of Trustees may revisit scrapping a hockey program, but certainly not the one in Lowell.

So the Eagle Tribune is finally acknowledging UML hockey?
In fairness they did include a courtesy photo too ! Then again the entire second page of sports was dedicated to "Another Frozen Four for BC".... women.
