Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

On a different note, here's a sign of how far college hockey has come over the last few years. I was in Las Vegas last week and was actually able to find college hockey lines posted in the sports books. (Thank you Riverhawks for helping me recoup my losses from the craps table).

They've had lines on NCAA tournament games for as long as I can remember (at least in the mid 90's), but it's always weird to see :)

Lowell get allotted 120-122 which means the Mrs. and I are sitting with the SCSU crowd in 116. That should be fun if we play them Saturday.

Right you are. As was reminded me by a buddy of mine after I made this post. Same buddy also reminded me, that **I** have even placed college hockey bets in the past years. Premature senility apparently.

I think my point was more that one doesn't have to go hunting around to find betting lines like one used to (i.e. the old days when the Imperial Palace was one of the very few places that would post a college hockey line) -- and now it's much easier to find a book that will take your wager.

But I'm with you WildShawn -- very weird to see and VERY weird/cool to see "UMass-Lowell" posted up on the big boards. Who would have EVER imagined?

Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread III

Can't wait for next weekend. My family's had FF tickets for some time now (Providence in '00) and I get to the tournament as often as I can (4 of them since '00). This year before Lowell looked like it had a shot, I booked a ticket to Pittsburgh. I'm so happy I did.

Unfortunately, I have a relatively new job and could only take Friday off. Fortunately, we got the early game. Thursday I'll rush home for 4:30, watch 2+ periods of the game before hopping on a plane and heading to Pittsburgh. I REALLY hope that when I land, I'll find out that that I'll be seeing Lowell on Saturday.

Haven't seen the actual tickets yet so not sure what section I'm in, but I'll be there on Saturday in Lowell gear nonetheless.

Chatted with UML assistant coach, Cam Ellsworth today, great guy. I knew hi well from his time as a goalie at Michigan Tech. I should have an article with quotes next week and will post a link, hopefully Monday. Good luck in Pittsburgh guys.

I see they dont mention the bar we are at.... I can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing... hopefully nothing at all just a space requirement lol

Just realizing that we could be waking up one week from today ... and Lowell might be playing in the National Championship game that night.

Dream big...
