Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread II

A win on Friday night would be nice.

not really:cool: but it would be nice to see a good turnout by UML fans. I always thought it was strange that there usually isn't a lot of you guys at the game when the River Hawks are at Conte Forum:confused:. I've seen more MC fans (since they became relevant) over the time i've been a season ticket holder when they are in so buy up those tickets!:)

Looks like a blizzard won't help our cause. Last time I went (yrs ago) the ushers were such jerks I never went back. Rather listen at home than have someone threaten to throw me out for being too loud. It wasn't like there was profanity or anything. I felt like I was a party crasher at the opera.

Couldn't really pinpoint why but I really never had a great time at Conte. I know there was a streak of exceptionally crappy weather for our games (and again this time it seems) but it was more than that.

I've made the trek down to Conte over the years but never really enjoyed myself as the crowd always seems to be small, Lowell gets crushed :( , and BC isn't the most convenient place to drive to......... especially on a Friday night.

I will never understand why BC doesn't pack the place most nights. You guys only seem to sell out against BU. At least Lowell has put up some big home crowds the last 4 or 5 years against teams like UVM and Northeastern.

What blizzard? *sobs in the corner*. Stupid DC weather *SPIT*

If you're having trouble understanding it, it's probably because it really isn't very true. Not looking for an argument here but your statement is misguided. BC DOES pack the place most nights and has been doing so for a few years now. 4 sellouts out of 13 home dates (BU, Notre Dame, Northeastern, UNH). Average attendance is the highest of any team out East (5th nationally) which is a very satured market anyway as you probably know. 88.1% capacity and that is with 2 Sunday games, which pulled down BC's numbers drastically as they were the only two home dates with less than 6,600 (94% capacity without those two Sunday dates).

Considering what we have in the East with so many teams and colleges plus the Bruins, that's pretty impressive for a small school like BC, regardless of whether they have the absolute top program in college hockey over the past few years.

Speaking of attendance, interesting to note, Lowell is third in HE home attendance.

Didn't UML run a bus trip for the students to BC a few years ago? Lowell had a good crowd there that night. Have they had any bus trips this year?
