Re: UMass Lowell '12/'13 Season Thread II

Not sure if it was mentioned, Lowell finished 11th nationally in attendance. Everyone above them played more home games (Denver got 6 more home games in than Lowell).

Makes me very proud to be one of the many non-student, non-alumni Greater Lowell hockey fans who have adopted the Riverhawks as my home team. 6 years ago it was just a fun cheap night of hockey with my little kids. Winning was a rare bonus. Now those kids are studying hard in High School hoping to go to UML and sometimes I think the only reason is for the free hockey tix! If I told them I traded our seats for Thursday at the Tsongas for Bruins Panthers tix they'd probably take out my knee caps. :D

Huh? Yes, that was kind of a given.

Those attendance figures only count home attendance. So when I saw the comment about other teams playing more home games . . . I guess I thought the claim was 11th in total attendance. Because . . . why else would it matter if other schools had more home games?

Either way, impressive job by the UML faithful (old and new :) )

So I see that it's Wednesday.... Sad face! But that does mean that we only have one more day!

Cheer up. It's almost PI day.

Chaz had a piece in the Lowell Sun on Maine being our eternal nemesis when it comes playoff time..

No surprise, Lowell and Amherst will play a non-conference game next season.

The Minutemen and UMass-Lowell will also play a nonconference game to preserve their best-of-three Governor’s Cup rivalry.

Monty & Gary. See you at the Beer Works around 5 tomorrow?
Hoping for 4:30 myself.

Feels weird this morning ... I'm kinda laid back this morning, completely the opposite of my nerves last Friday. Not sure if it's because it's only Game 1 of the playoffs, or because I remember that feeling of disappointment last year.
