Nice goals by Chapie and Arnold, It's amazing what happens when you get the puck to the net.

Lowell needs to be ready to work and fight for every inch of ice tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully they can get an early goal and open the game up a little.

This morning, I ran through a comparison of goalie stats in league games this year to see how different the games have been with Carr and Hellebuyck. I used GF/GA per game because that's a better reflection of the team than say GAA/Save Pct, which is more of a measure of a goalie.

I didn't think it was going to be this dramatic.

This is simply a tale of two different teams. From a team lacking confidence to do anything right through December, it has developed into a team meeting expectations and has become a legitimate NCAA-contender. I'm having a hard time starting to resolve this obvious statistical discrepancy other than some of the younger defensemen simply need some time to adjust. However, it's more than just goaltending and defensive play as the forwards have responded as well. The team has gelled around Hellebuyck and it's hard to fathom the game I saw on December 1st was in the same season that I saw in March 1st.

I said at the game last night that the Unsung Hero award in my book is Christian Folin. The progression of this young defenseman has been first-rate and the potential is there to be a solid defenseman in this league for a long time to come. Still some work for this kid and to some, he may or may not be considered a "project". The sky's the limit for this player if he continues on this path he has set upon this semester.

Yes on both counts. The Bs have already won, so that part is good. Now PC is up ... but a long time to go.

And rooting for UMass ... I feel dirty even typing that, but yes.

I know it's a bit early with the game tomorrow, but do you think we see Lyles dressed for senior night or does Norm go with what got us where we are at?

He'll be in a suit and tie. Nothing against him, but it's not like he was here for four years either. He'll get acknowledged, but next weekend is way too important.

Which means a Lowell win tomorrow puts them in first place by themselves.

And it is 5 with the commentator mentioning us and first place in the same sentence. :eek: I guess the glass is no longer half full with a hole in the bottom. :D:D:D

I still find it amusing how TC keeps referencing our game tonight

And thanks to BC last night, guess the hawks have the longest active winning streak at 6? :D:D:D

5-0 now, shorthanded goal by Acciari. BC looked like BU today. What a frustrated dirty play by Matheson on Acciari in front of the BC net. Cross checks him to the ice, it doesn't get called, then as Acciari gingerly trys to get up far behind the play Matheson shoves him back down to the ice and gets the roughing call.

Sure would be sweet to win tomorrrow and spend the week in 1st place. You guys think BC drops below us in PWR with the loss?

BC drops to 9th in PWR and UML is 7th.

Just WIN tommorow. Idc how ugly or good, but just find a way and WIN

Hell, if we're hoping ... UVM beating BU helps as as well, as a Lowell win tomorrow and a BU loss tonight means one less team that can catch us for home ice.

Doesn't it feel funny that we are the team that everyone is looking to technically catch right now with a game in hand on BC and PC :D ;)

Its better than that. UVM wins drops BU's max to 32 and we have the tiebreaker over them. A win tomorrow puts us above of merrimack as their max is 31, so its possible to clinch home ice tomorrow.

Such a fun night of hockey around the leauge.

Yup. Liking it tho. Need more of it.

Just saw the commercial for the ManchVegas NCAA Regionals. Need to keep winning, maybe earn a place there. We've proven we can bring fans and we're the closest school to there, aside from the host but that's a long way down the road.
