UMaine Hockey 23 - 24: The Barr Crawl to Glory!!!

Have no problem with the way Maine played Saturday night. Going into the third period tied 0-0 on the road is hardly the worst thing, but the thought is that some new look lines would have sparked some offense like they did on Friday.

The defensive effort we saw Saturday (minus on those two goals) should set them up well for this UML series if they can match that play.

Hope Barr has them prepared in practice for a physical tight checking series. Not sure how Maine simulates the expected physical play this week, but I might try to make it up to one of the afternoon practices this week and see how they look.

Has anyone in this group seen Lowell play this season? Why do people predict a physical game? I would have expected that out of Merrimack, not having seen them at the time, but Brar failed to show up and the rest of the warriors must not have expected Maine to be good.???

It appears being physical is how you slow Maine down, so I would expect tight checking game with Lowell lining up on blue line. I haven't seen Lowell play so just a hunch. But being a Knowitall you should know : )

Been checking the UMAINE roster site...still no Jack Walton mentioned(?)...don't tell me this needs to be ok'd by the NC$$..?...figured some type of announcement would have been made this weekend during the games broadcast out of CT....wonder if on Campus and practicing.

Jack Dalton is now listed on the Maine Roster online. He will be wearing #2.

sure, but can they do it?
merrimack was chasing Maine all over the ice giving all “time snd space” they could have wanted. UConn is much faster and gave Maine no space.
can lowell skate? (I have no idea…I haven’t seen Lowell since Joey Diamond got the kicking major)

and…

; )

Ncaa teams get to carry one extra guy on the bench.
maybe Carney and his 6’4” frame can throw the body around when needed—-be the extra and only play in certain circumstances…like Jacque Rodrigue did (only on the pp).

Bazin UML's teams typically play a grinding hard nose hockey style...they are a hard team to push around...they block shots and clog up the passing lanes...myself I expect a low scoring series...but then...anything can happen.

I get that, but I was asking how they look this season and if anyone on here has seen them, this season.

Donato’s Harvard teams typically did all sorts of things they have not done at all this season.

I saw the Bentley Falcons humiliate the Fish Hawks 4-1 at Tsongas in late November, and you beat the Falcons, didn’t ya? Oh ….. wait ….. you just barely got by the Falcons 3-2 on home ice. So, could be close games in Orono this weekend.

FYI: Tickets for the weekend are sold out. As are tickets for the Providence and Northeastern weekends. The Friday UMass game has 50 obstructed view seats available. The Senior Night game against UMass has nine seats available, scattered all around the building. Limited quantities will be available on game nights at the ticket office starting at 5PM.

Looks like the days of camping out for tickets might be returning.

Yes...but it's a good sign...program has direction behind it..now to continue it on a yearly basis.

Plenty of tickets on reseller sites. One of the reasons I had season tickets was because that was the only way to have garunteed tickets for every game without having to pay extra on ticket-master/luck

Let’s see what happens tonight against Lowell, hopefully they can get an early lead and make Lowell play Maines game.
