Tough loss..Q is a good team but Maine played awful. The powerplay was atrocious and had every opportunity to get them back in the game. They still need to learn to take the next step..this was a winnable game but Q rose to the occasion Maine did not.

Wuzza an absolute must win for Q. Maine played hard but Q wanted it a bit more. Ranked teams just hate to get swept in their own barn. A good weekend nonetheless.

Then don't... Maine was as fast, if not faster, then Q all weekend. It was not the ice.

Yep..Quinnipiac is a great team. No way they are losing back to back at home. Regardless I think thier toughest tests are the last few weeks they should clean house in their league play and stay top 5.

I doubt anyone is surprised by last nights result. You could see it in the 1st period. Q played great, Maine was overwhelmed a bit. Good weekend just the same. Lots of work to do and it’s very early in the season.

No news about Duda? He would help some.

Learning lessons in win and lost...knowing that Barr and assistants will work hard all week getting ready for MC. This team will fall down but get back up each and every week. And we all know this isn't the finish product we will see mid-season to the end of the regular season. Duda situation continues...like yourself...most are wondering when the final decision comes down...for now he's not here and to go at it like that...out of anyone's control...

I think this weekend should be viewed as a net positive. Yesterday’s game left a lot to be desired but I credit that more to Q and less to Maine. Q’s record might not look as pretty as it normally does but it’s worth noting that they are yet to lose a game in regulation. That’s a really good team who I’d expect to win the ECAC and be in the tournament.

If they come through the first 10 games at 6-4, they’ll have set themselves up nicely from a pairwise perspective to have a chance. Schedule definitely softens a bit after that and should win some games before the New Year.

Make no mistake the Q is a very good and disciplined team. Maine had zero room in the neutral to get anything going....impressive how Q totally eliminates time and space especially through the neutral zone. Sure that Maine was getting frustrated but, they didnt take stupid penalties because of it, which is a very good coaching/learning thing. Having said all this still think Maine gave them all they wanted in both games and never quit. A lot to like and look forward to. Freak'in Brezeale is a beast huh? Love to see him and Duda hook up.

Always like watching Quinnipiac play...they have a solid program and a real solid Coach...I for one was really happy they won the National Championship this spring and beating Minnesota to boot.

Oh yeah hard to be too upset with the overall weekend. Wonder if Maine will come out of this weekend with a number next to their name in the polls...

Considering Maine had gone 5-22-5 on the road over the last couple years any road points have been a grind to get. Hopefully they're able to bring that same energy against Merrimack/BU in the coming weeks.

Isaac Lambert no longer committed to Maine. I think Ryan Remick might not be committed anymore as well. Removed Maine from his social media. Not 100% sure on that one.

That would be a shame because Remick is off to a nice start this season.

Remick until this season has been disappointing. He is finally playing well in his overager year his third year in a tier 2 league. He would be a nice walk on but I would prefer Maine divvy up scholarship money or offer full rides to better players especially up front.

I think Maine needs another legit forward for next fall. (Exception would be if one or two of Montgomery, Cisar, Peluso go on a nice run in the USHL the rest of the year and make themselves college ready.) Not sure enough of their ‘04 committed forwards have progressed enough to this point.

Bright note is that Brock James is off to a great start in the NAHL with 17 points in 12 games. If he keeps it up could see him joining Kuzma and Pichette up front next fall.

Thinking that both participants in the Border Battle will snag a Top 20 ranking in this week's poll.

How nice if we can both say the same thing a few weeks/months from now ... like your chances better than ours ...

Remick has been off Heisenberg’s list for a while. Lambert is an old Red recruit on his 11th BCHL season. No surprises there.

They have 30 guys committed for the next three seasons 17 for next year. I’m assuming more names will drop off the list.

I think Maine may be just outside but UNH should be in the top 20. For some reason the Pollsters seem to hate Maine but we will see.

Anyone else notice how light the crowds were at Quinnipiac? Seems low for a National Champ even if it's an OOC opponent
