I’m not sure that is a good idea. If a player is doing well at the USHL level, which is the best junior a league, then they can’t be held off. That is what will lead to them pulling their commitment and going elsewhere. I had Cisar as the second best forward coming in next season, after Kuzma. So I want him to come in next season. Imagine the coaching staff does. I agree with who you listed as forwards may likely be moving on. Somers evidently turned down hockey in better leagues to stay in the SJHL.
Out of curiosity, what did you have for rankings for the forward coming in next season? Anyone else can chime in too.
Regarding Cisar, I don't see 20 pts in 45 GP as eye-popping numbers. Now, the argument could be made that since he's on the best team in the league, maybe he is getting less minutes and therefore opportunities than his talent level would indicate? I also haven't seen him (or any other recruits for that matter) actually play, which I will admit, so I'm purely going off the stat sheet. But with all this in mind, my personal top list for the incoming class is Kuzma, James, Pichette, Peluso, Cisar. Probably in that order, but that last three in my opinion could be argued in almost any order. Throw in Komarov somewhere too, forgot about him since it was so recent.
I think Peluso has been overlooked so far, this year he skated in a few USHL games with minimal results, but then went to Brooks and has been a PPG player with that powerhouse team, which continued after they moved to the BCHL. I think he could be a sneaky one to watch.
