No....Mr.Sour....your just feeling like the yester-years of the Gendron error(era)...hope you enjoy your misery....and your sitting there knowing full well the UNH Bus is heading to Maine this weekend...your just hoping to blast us all...better win tonight.....catch you later.

Guess I was right after all. One (1) goal allowed over their last 240 minutes of play. Airtight elimination hockey.

"UNH Bus is heading to Maine this weekend". Pressure is all on your guys now. Sleep tight, skippy ...

Of the teams Maine can face in the QF on Saturday, not sure who they'd want to play. A combined losing record against the four of them...

1-2 vs #6 New Hampshire
1-2 vs #7 Northeastern
2-1 vs #8 UConn
1-1 vs #9 Vermont

All games are on ESPN+ starting momentarily

At least there home and its playoff hockey...!

What a weird and wild story. Wonder what he was trying to make off with?

There is a player with that last name on UMass Amherst. What a crappy father to embarass his son like this. Feel bad for the kid. Maybe the guy was completely lit and did know what he was doing?

I'm as excited as anyone for Saturday's game, but I've learned my lesson about looking past UNH at this point. This game will be no gimme, even with the Alfond Advantage. Should be a ferocious battle.

Yes UNH is hot at the right time and there goaltending is solid, they also bring a physical play to there game...it will be a tough game, imo it will be if Maine can adapt to the physical play and take the eyes away from their netminder....they will need some dirty goals and the biggie...stay out of the box.

3-1 at home against them

Houle line has to set the tone, physical and no penalties. Boija has to be solid for 60, crowd has to stay in game. I'm betting Maine wishes they had a bigger set of Dman after Saturdays game.. I can see NU beating BU. PC over Umass and BC kills UConn.

Airtight elimination hockey (whatever that means) against Lowell…and the final, losing 50 minutes against bc

and if you were there last night, you saw Lowell whiff and miss pucks all night long from in close. At least 8 times. Hellsten was called on to make exactly 0 saves on screened shots and 0 saves on all those whiffs.

unh played a good game and Hellsten did what he had to do, but Lowell did not show up

If UNH plays like they did last night in Orono they will lose 6 to 1.

Let me elaborate a bit on what I saw last night:

UNH was sloppy. Got up 1-0, and tried to sit on the lead. Their powerplay was atrocious. They did enough to win, and Hellsten bailed them out a few times.

Lowell had multiple grade A opportunities and as StillKIA2 said, fumbled it, whiffed on it, Lowell has like 0 scoring or finishing touch right now..reminded me of Barr's first season with the remnants of the late Coach Gendron's groceries, won like 7 games and had ZERO finishing touch or skill..whiffed on pucks, blew 2 on 1's..they just had no high end talent.

If UNH plays this game in Orono they are going to get destroyed. Even if they go up 2 to 0 they will get destroyed trying to sit on a lead for two periods..crowd momentum is a thing, and a big factor. They should know, they fed off the UNH crowd in Durham which I would say was pretty good for the games I was there. Sound isn't as loud because it doesn't reflect like the Alfond, especially the student section. The Alfond will be rocking, the students should be back, it's going to be the loudest game I imagine all season.

Serious question will the students be back?

Most schools don't reopen dorms until Sunday of spring break. Particularly with Sunday St Patrick's day, they may not want students "on campus" Saturday night. Additionally I don't know the percentage of the student population actually on campus at Maine and if like UNH most live less than 90 minutes away.

Most upperclassmen live off campus in one of the large complexes on Park St. However, the res. halls don't open until 10am on Sunday. I would expect a mostly full student section, but missing some of the die hards.

I would be sending an email to the University and tell them to let the students come back..this is the biggest game of the year until the tournament

Yup, that’s what it looked like. Lowell made 0 tape-to-tape passes on the forehand where the recipient could do something with the puck…very Gendron-esque

I just about cried for joy at Colby this season seeing the Nadeaus passing tape-to-tape while driving up ice and while on the PP

(I’ll never understand how it is so hard for some players to know whether they are passing to a righty or a lefty…even Abbott used to pass to Flynn’s wrong side, but Flynny would go into almost a split to get off a one-timer…what a beautiful shot he had)
