15 tickets left.

Reminder that the Northeastern - Providence game starts at 4pm on ESPN+. That has big implications for the national picture.

Edit: obstructed view in MM are all that remain

So what are the implications?

Providence wins and UNH comes to Alfond next Saturday and UMass and Providence battle for who gets in ncaa.

Providence losses and runs the risk of falling to 6th and traveling to Alfond next Saturday and pairwise for Providence too low to make ncaa playoffs.

Is this the correct implications?

It starts with only the top 5 seeds get byes. Then BC gets the lowest seed, BU next, Maine next, and 4 plays 5. No guarantee UNH will even make it to Orono

We want UMass to finish as a 4 seed in the national tournament which makes a 2/3 seed Maine a mortal lock for Springfield since BU will have to be sent elsewhere. That lands a Denver or a Michigan State as the top seed and a probable pairing with a BTHC team. If Maine, PC and UMass all finish in the 2/3 band then Maine is headed to St Louis. The different scenarios are still too numerous and there are too many factors to weigh accurately (who would have guessed the outcomes of AIC-Air Force and Anchorage-Arizona State would mean so much?) but every result gets us closer to finality.

Every time Providence scores, Northeastern quickly answers. They are tied at 2 goals apiece heading into the 3rd period. Game is on espn+ if anyone is interested.

I don't see anyone questioning Barrs pic for goalie tonight. He knows who gives them the best shot to win and what a win or loss does in national picture. I hope Maine is ready to go and gets another win. Got a ticket for next Saturday.

Basically Niemo(F) out and Dalton(D) is in.

Providence and Northeastern tied at 3 headed to OT. One point for Providence locks Providence into a bye.

UNH locked into 6th due to less conference win percentage against UMass even if UMass loses tonight, I think???

Providence clinches a bye.
UHN will finish 6 and host either Lowell or Merrimack. The higher seeded of those two will play at Northeastern. UConn will host Vermont.

Maine will host either UHN, Northeastern, UConn or Vermont.

Correct. UMass and Providence will play the QF, all that's left to decide is where. We won't know until the UMA-Maine game goes final.

UMass needs a win either in regulation, OT or a shootout to finish 4th and host. A Maine win sends UMass to Providence next weekend.

Providence now 14th in pairwise. So if Maine can beat UMass, seems like those two would play for who gets in to the ncaas. Cause the loser likely knocked lower on the bubble than 14th. This is great for Maine making it a near lock to stay east. So Maine, you win tonight you likely stay east!

Maine 1-0

Scott with a big slapper up over the blocker from the high slot! Power play goal.

Power play looked great in the first. UMass didn’t look like a team playing for their tourney lives if I’m being fully honest.
