UMaine Black Bears, 2017-2018, reds last stand part 2

I though VMT played well last night. I liked how he moved the puck. I like him at center point on that power play unit. Almost paid off with that Doherty one timer.

I disagree, I saw multiple pucks hop over his stick at the blue line that he couldn’t keep in.

No talking about penalties, it's too negative.

Not sure if I can say this either but 1 team was ready to play

Forwards have looked great tonight so far in my opinion. Fossier, Westerlund (missing the open net not withstanding) and Smith stand out to me specifically.

Maine fortunate to be tied once again as Merrimack carried the play.

On the other hand Westerlund had a look at 85% open net, needs to lift that puck and Maine would be up 2-1.

Nevertheless tied at 1.

And yes, penalties just keep going... despite it being obvious even for the optimistic types like me.

Maybe since they are bad at killing penalties they figure they need more practice. Yeah, that is it. See how we can turn things into a positive. There is a plan there I am sure.

:D

Fossier on that first penalty kill was awesome.

Great closure and stick work with quick decision making by Vesey. What a great effort.

He’s been better this year.

Maine has played like **** in the retro uniforms so it makes a lot of sense for them to wear them again tonight.

Put the unis for sale up front. Is it me, these unis dont stand out at all on the ice. The blue is same color as the kick plate. Almost camouflaging the guys.

We need the pearson line to step it up tonight.

Rob Michel turns in the worst play of the season on that.
