Problem was they seemed to have noticed this early on, but were unable to make any adjustments to remedy.I read into it more as probably not so many young players all at once (if avoidable), and to be better prepared to acclimate them to what a jump it is from juniors to college.
It sounds like Barr kind of owned that he wasn't ready for that and it caused a lot of growing pains throughout the season. It also probably explains why so many of those guys were in the doghouse at various points of the season.
But it wouldn't be wise for Maine to ignore a recruiting pipeline that we're well-positioned geographically to scout and pull players from.
