UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I like it. Sometimes the student section is sparsely populated. This new system should keep it full.

I have a cousin who is a current student and his mindset (along with his friends) is hockey games are fun, but no one wants to stand in line for a couple hours and not get in…or feel the need to get in line at 3pm. Hopefully it will work itself out with many benefits beyond the prior first come, first serve. He never bothered to find out when the line wasn’t absurdly long.

It seems like in the last few years there have been more than a few games where it’s close to empty and I don’t really remember that in the past other than around break or something like that. They should consider splitting the balcony in half and selling one half to general public.

Regarding student tickets, when I was there (2016-20, Gendron era) you just flashed your MaineCard at the front door and they handed you a paper ticket. My friends and I always got there early, usually were first in line, didn't want to risk not getting the seats we always sat in for every game, but sometimes it filled up all the way and sometimes it didn't. I think part of the last few years had to do with the band not being in the balcony, with them being moved back up there for this year it will look a lot more full.

There's about 115 fewer students tickets available in the balcony with the band going back upstairs and the new ADA platforms. I was able to score two GA balcony tickets this evening, and there's plenty available for tomorrow.

Enjoy. Hope there are lots of goals by Maine in that end. Make sure you heckle the goalie like the kids do. At least as much as you can without losing your voice.
