UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Anyone in the know or has had eyes on the team know any of the following?
-Has Rick Bennett joined fully/full-time?
-What's up w Sully/Langlois
-Does Josh look stronger/harder to shake off the puck?
-How does Komarov look, and in the faceoff circle?
Langlois is still wearing orange jersey in practice.
Ive heard team doesn't look like a finely tuned machine in practice.

Either way just bought frozen four tickets ;)

Parking info

New this year, a free shuttle bus provided by Cyr Bus Line will also be available to fans attending Maine men's ice hockey games. Fans may park in the Collins Center or Belgrade lots on the east side of campus and ride the shuttle to Alfond Arena.

Shuttle service will begin two hours prior to puck drop, with return trips available at the completion of games. The designated pickup/drop-off locations are the front of CCA Lot and the front of Alfond Arena. The shuttle will not make stops to other areas on campus.

Langlois fully practiced today. Didn't notice anyone missing. Barr lit into the team a couple times at practice for being a little lethargic and sloppy during drills. They got it together eventually but wonder how much of that will carry over in games if they are trying to make the perfect pass like they did against UNH. Thought the communication from the players was much better than it was in practice last week and the exhibition on Friday.

Hows the rink progress, they going to have things somewhat sorted out for friday? At least all the junk and construction stuff put away somewhere.

The construction crew was still working, cleaning up around the arena. Saw a couple shop-vacs running up in the balcony. Still some odds and ends being done over by the beer garden area. The former main entrance area looked to have some new things up on the walls compared to last week but still looked to be under construction so I didn't walk over there. I'm gonna guess they'll have that entrance ready to go for Friday.

I like it. Sometimes the student section is sparsely populated. This new system should keep it full.

I have a cousin who is a current student and his mindset (along with his friends) is hockey games are fun, but no one wants to stand in line for a couple hours and not get in…or feel the need to get in line at 3pm. Hopefully it will work itself out with many benefits beyond the prior first come, first serve. He never bothered to find out when the line wasn’t absurdly long.

Just snagged front row in the balcony for tomorrow night. Should be a good time.

Ticket is flagged as a student ticket though...well, I used to be a student, so...close enough, right?
So the new system for students is?? That if they dont secure tickets by a certain time the leftovers get sold?
So students have to plan out a couple days and cant last minute decide to go to game.?
Students planning ahead 🤔

Students need to request tickets in advance. They also have to let the ticket office know 24 hours before the game if they can't attend and the ticket is released to be sold. If students reserve seats but the ticket remains unscanned the student gets a strike. Three strikes and the student loses the right to reserve seats at any sporting event for the rest of the school year.

It is still general admission, so first in line will get the best seats. So even though I bought the ticket marked front row of section J J, I'd have to get there early to claim that seat.

Speaking of, I won't be able to make it to Orono tonight after all, so if anyone wants the ticket, email me or post here and I'll send you the QC code for admission. No charge, just enjoy the game and make lots of noise.

When we were student back in early 90s you had to go on Tuesdays to get your tickets(physical tickets) and you had to show your ID. That was a good system because if you took the time to go over on a Tuesday to get tickets, you likely were vested energy wise to attend the actual game. Glad to see they are getting back to having to get tickets ahead of time.
