What kind of papers you rolling with there bud?
Bears get double swept. They're all still smoke and mirrors with no goalie.

Knowing what I do about 5hole, he's probably rolling 'em with Whitehead's next contract extension. :)

I can remember a coach who either would have coached that out of them or sat them on the bench till the problem disappeared. the buy out clause probably lets them get out of the contract for less than Timmay's remaining contracted salary. Cindy had two years left on her contract, but the University only had to pay her one year salary.

Paying a buyout of one year's salary would more-than-likely turn out to be a bargain, IMO.

Just a heads up to anyone going to Saturdays Maine/MC game...I heard that it's a 5pm start instead of the regular time of 7pm...not 100% for sure but just a heads up to check on.

was just looking at the UMaine stats and was surprised to see Flynn at a +12 and Abbott and Diamond at +5 and +4. Not exactly sure how there is such a significant difference seeing they are almost always on the ice at the same time together. Also, pretty impressive switch for Flynn to the center, considering he played wing for his first 3 years.

Cornell at a +7 is leading the defense is also pretty impressive- didn't expect to see that. O'Neil has been better of late and Hegarty and Nemec have been fairly consistent this year. Hope to see the D improve on moving the puck out of their own end as it seems they struggle with an aggressive forecheck.

a quick look at the box scores shows abott was on the ice for a 4on4 goal against and flynn was on the ice for a 4on4 goal FOR against Lowell.. that is a diffrence of 2.

but, looking at shorties (for a few games) they were out together...I wouldda thought it was the shorthanded goals that made the difference

Big weekend for the team, should show if the team has really improved or if the current run is opponent driven! MC isn't playing like a top 10 team, hope we can keep up with them. I was really disappointed in the BU game, we didn't belong on the ice with them. BU outskated us, outworked us, outsmarted us, and out refereed us! I must admit to not being able to figure out all of the "embellishment" calls? I guess if the bones not poking through you better skate off the ice!

I thought that +/- was an even-strength tabulation only? 4on4 still works but SH/PP goals for/against don't?

5 pm for Saturday is correct.

Plus/minus....minus for a shorthanded goal against and an even strength goal against, not power play goal against. Same for plus, score even or man down get a plus, but not for PPG.

if a short handed team scores, people get plusses and minuses.
if the powerplay team scores, nothing happens

so the South Carolina Black Bears of the ECHL just picked up Mike Hamilton... to go along with DeKastrozza and Billy Ryan. (billy had his jaw broken on a hit from behind.... he had been credited with scoring 2 goals in each of his first 2 ECHL games, was named first star in both, and has yet to play a third game for the SC stingray Bears)
