so this game was on TV last night? anyone watch? did Jon Small do play-by-play? if so, how'd he do?
Yeah, he did a good job. It's a little different but he sounds fresh. Good choice.

I'm a little surprised by y'alls assessment of the game. I didn't watch the live video or even listen, but Sneddon seems to think the Cats played pretty well. Check out his comments and recap of the game.

I didn't read the article but they lost to a less than stellar Maine team. His expectations must be pretty low if he thinks Vermont(other than Madore) played well. I'd never go to another college hockey game if last night is what I saw every timeI'm a little surprised by y'alls assessment of the game. I know, that's what worries me about Sneddon. I'm beginning to wonder if it's time for us to mimic Maine fans in calling for our coach's head.I didn't read the article but they lost to a less than stellar Maine team. I'm watching my dvr and the production is fine, certainly not HD but I can follow the puck easily. Bandwidth from Alfond to their studios is the problem, they use microwave to get it back to Bangor and it can't handle HD. I wonder why they don't use fiber but whateverHe was fine. However, at least on the WPME rebroadcast, I am going to throw the word "unwatchable" around in regards to the production quality. On my plasma screen tv you can't even see the puck! I understand that this is rural Maine and we don't deserve HD or whatever WABI's excuse is, but there is absolutely no point in watching those games. They look like they were filmed in Eastern Europe around 1976.

Stumbled on the fact that Shawn Sirman is now playing for D3 New England College. He stopped 18 of 22 to beat Will O'Neill's dad's Salem State team in OT tonight. Sirman's 5-4 on the year.

You would know more about that than I doI doubt they have HD field cameras, or a digital audio board, or HD switcher for the truck either. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Hey Maineacs, posted in the Frozen Fenway thread, but in case you are interested, here are a handful of pix from last night's UNH/Maine alumni games at Fenway. (two 25 min games with older alums and more recent alums)

I just received an email with an Obituary.
A long time great friend of Maine hockey and a long-time penalty time keeper at the Alfond passed away yesterday.
I hope that people are willing and able to remember him as the obit reports that he would approve.

John will be missed.
Nonnie, our thoughts are with you. I am certain that I can speak for thousands of members of the Maine hockey community when I write that.
I think the UNH player in the first top pick on the right is Mark Mowers. The first Maine game I saw on the road at the Whit in possibly 97 or so in the Scott Permentier/Shawn Wansborough era was a game where UNH clobbered Maine 7-0, and Mowers who I think was captain of UNH at the time was taken off the ice on a stretcher. Memories...
