UAH Hockey 2015-16: The next step

Re: UAH Hockey 2015-16: The next step

That was awesome! Our oldest signed up this week for freshman orientation at UAH, so it was doubly cool to watch.

2015-16 season review, statistically speaking.

Best gains were on offense (expect on the power play), and defense did improve before falling apart in those last three games. It lent again toward Dave's point about there were real improvements even though it didn't translate into wins (fewer losses, though), which is what we were expecting.

Re: UAH Hockey 2015-16: The next step

Here's inspiration for aspirations. I remember the Quinnipiac of 22 years ago.

"“My plan was, OK, this may be the worst Division III team in the country. I’ll build it up in two or three years and I’ll move on to something better where I can actually make money and survive,” Pecknold said. “And then as we got going and years two, three, four got better. All of a sudden we announced we’re going to go Division I.”

Pecknold’s initial salary was $6,700. He was a high school teacher at the time and commuted more than two hours roundtrip for practices that often began at midnight in the early days."

Seriously. From being our homecoming beatdown opponent to almost winning a Division I national title has been remarkable. I was rooting hard for Quinnipiac tonight.

It's time for a 2016-2017 thread, isn't it?
Looking forward to that season. We'll have a kid there:-)

We're typically low-enough volume to keep the previous season's thread up through the offseason.

Re: UAH Hockey 2015-16: The next step

Are we expecting everyone in the 2016-2017 class to report/be NCAA eligible to play this upcoming season? I'm assuming the class includes: (1) Beaulieu, (2) Gadoury, (3) Larson, (4) James, and (5) Rappleyea. Salerno obviously had issues and I'm guessing Anderson did as well. Hope all of these guys are coming in ready to play.

Re: UAH Hockey 2015-16: The next step

Any word from the award banquet tonight about the schedule or anything new about next season?

Re: UAH Hockey 2015-16: The next step

I'm looking forward to the season, 2-3 double-digit goal scorers, and double-digit wins. If you get those things, maybe you sneak up to the #5 seed, and then it's In Carmine We Trust.

Nelson Gadoury???? 95 Birth Date but listed as 2017-18, any chance for 2016-17???

(2) Gadoury??? are you sure it isn't 2017-18???

Re: UAH Hockey 2015-16: The next step

Gadoury should be for this yr. he was a previous commit to Quinnipiac but I think we kept pushing him back the last 2 years in juniors.

Thanks! I like him...he will be good if he can work discipline and structure into his game. Is Mick coming in with you guys next year?
