UAH Hockey 2014-15: The 30th Varsity Season

Re: UAH Hockey 2014-15: The 30th Varsity Season

I'm selfish about wanting the home games early in the season, as I should certify over here in ISS Operations come the end of the year. Getting time off to watch/work games will be hard — everyone likes having their weekend nights, and no one likes swing shifts (3p-11p) on weekends, because it'll be 48 hours or more before they do science again. Give me those Fri-Sat and Sat-Sun mid shifts, though!

Re: UAH Hockey 2014-15: The 30th Varsity Season

Only three home series after the first of the year isn't any better than pre-WCHA. Crowding three home series between Thanksgiving and Christmas won't help attendance, but the coaching staff should appreciate spending more time at home during the Christmas season.

Re: UAH Hockey 2014-15: The 30th Varsity Season

Someone coming in this late makes me fear that someone backed out or otherwise had eligibility problems. We had enough of that last year.

My fears were unfounded. Anderson is someone that the coaches have had their eye on for awhile.

Danton Cole will be an AC for the 2016 IIHF World Juniors in Helsinki. Given that this is U-20 and not U-18, I'd say that's a step up for him.

For those of you who may not have heard, Colby Ross died on Monday the 15th and was buried yesterday. I'm sure that many of you have memories of him playing youth hockey around here. What a loss for their family.

Very sorry to hear that Geof. Prayers to the family.

Hey, I'm not that old, Terry. Fish retired about halfway through my time as an undergraduate. I'm honored to have won a student leadership award with her name on it.

Here's some sad news for some of the older UAH alumni. http://www.sorensonlockwood.com/obituaries/Jeanne-Prevost/#!/Obituary. Jeanne was a good person, a class act, and a friend of UAH Hockey.
