Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!
The new scoreboard rocks...our family went to the Sochi games and it is
theeee exact same board used at the Shabaya Arena. A 400% improvement of what we previously had. Make sure to thank The Aces for the new board!
A Couple Updates: No new plexiglass this year! No Green/Gold and Jersey Nights this year...kids 12 and under must buy a Seapups card ($30) for the season. Still an awesome deal! Make sure to get the word out to all the youth hockey associations! The Atheltic Department is doing their best to re-establish the monetary value of UAA hockey tickets. After years of giving tiks away to various entities the tiks have been devalued by the freeebies. Season tiks no longer come with a comp tickets or the "standard" blueliner pass...not complaining just want everyone to know what to expect! I will gladly pay 2 times more than previous years because....well... because, I feel the Athletic Department is just as comitted to the program as I am. Kudos to all the changes! keep up the great work!
If anyone is interested, Mayor Sullivan's comitment to youth hockey is on display at Dempsey Arena. Take a look at what's going on outside DA and tell me if you think it's just parking lot improvements. This dude just doesn't get it. But some how, his political ticket partner does...
http://amandacoyne.com/politics/loo...-mead-mail-absolute-power-breeds-complacency/ Sullivan's lack of commitment to local hockey is exemplified by the increased hourly rates at muni rinks...god only knows that a public rink/arena shouldn't be able to offer ice at an hourly rate lower than the privately owned/funded rink that receives most of it money from alcohol sales. Sounds fare to me! Whay say thee! One last random ice/hockey rant and JJ/DD and that Seawolf dude can duke it out... currently the MOA has a contract with SMG contract to manage Dempsey and Ben Boeke Arenas. Has anyone ever reviewed the potential conflict of interest that exists between the SMG Manager/Arena Operator and the local non-profit youth hockey associations that utilize these publicly funded ice arenas (AHA, Allstars and Gomez Foundation)? If I'm not mistaken, the SMG Arena manager is also the president of the local hockey association (SAHA) that happens to keep the only privatly owned rink (subway arena) in business. Hmmmm...must be a coincidence, right KM?
Welcome back DD...(i think). I missed your rants and analysis of the UAA games...hell, I even missed all your f#ck1ng F-Bombs! I am disapointed that you a JJ cotinue to act like complete *******s but hey, that's your f#ck1ng choice!
