Well if you are killing off multiple penalties with your top line forwards and defense..............will definately have an impact......
The top line played 30 minutes(i'm guessing) both nights. I'd really like to know for sure how much they played, do they keep that stat?

there is a woman with a note pad up against the glass by where the away team comes out... ask her... she keeps EVERY stat

To answer an old question: Tim never took a team to the Frozen Four, unless the team had some of Shawn's players in it. Anybody disagree with this now? hahaha

Am surprised nothing was mentioned about the bench penalty for too many men on the ice..........and the line changes have been brutal...........players getting caught on the ice after long shifts

But.............................but............................TIMMAY has no control over that stuff!!!!

Re: U Maine 2011-2012 Season (thread created when Maine was at .500) Thread

I saw a lot of positive things the last game but we seemed to run out of gas and went into a prevent defense that led to numerous lazy feet penalties in the third. Hopefully we can build on that and play hard for 3 periods. We need to be more physical and need to be a tougher team to play against all of the time, everywhere on the ice.

Seems to be the story with TIMMAY's teams the last few years, running out of gas in the third period. Also, getting outworked physically. One would have to question their strength and conditioning, as well as their grit and determination.

I think most come in ready...strength coach is great. Then they go downhill...have you seen a practice?
My kids' practices are harder! Hard to keep that grit (when discouraged to do it or afaid to be benched if you do) and determination
when frustrated. Time for a change. I agree with an old post, let Corkhum take them the rest of the year. You would see a different team the first game.

so, with the money I am saving, I am thinking of getting an M5 (BMW M5)

there is a happy thought!
anyone wanna tell me about their experiences with an M5?

as I think of it... athlete's foot is a happier thought than Maine Hockey of 2012

Ouellette leaving for the QMJHL makes the most sense.
Ouellette has that Option/Sullivan is here with no where's to go and Matt Morris is coming in from Dubuque...will be interesting to see if and what happens after the Season...but then it will all come down to is TW back or will they show him I-95 South and bring in "HOPE"..?

Tim runs this team like it's an NHL club. He preaches the system and team concepts. That's it. It's like an academic exercise. So, when game time comes and Maine gets hit, out skated, gets pressed or gets down by a goal, they panic, heads go on a swivel and the wheels fall off. There is very little in-game coaching and teaching from the head coach from what I can see. College players need a little much more than that.

For more offensive punch move Mangene (center) and Pryor (wing) to forward positions

Bill Norman has a nice offensive skill set as well from what I have seen and should do better than some of the 4th liners that we currently have. It should not hurt the team to move him up and to see what he has got.......

Sounds like what Tim Army did in Providence.

Mullins Center Big Ice
In the last 4 years, Maine has lost 4 times in the regular season (no points in 3 straight years), but on the upside, Maine won and tied there last season.
That said, Maine tied 3-3 after taking a 3-1 lead into the thrid, and
Maine won 4-3 after taking a 3-0 lead into the third and having a 4-1 lead with 9 minutes left. Robbie Dee had the winning and tieing goals that weekend.

Next and last win-> Week from today vs USA under 18...but seriously I don't see this team winning until Jan 4. Can't win on the road only sometimes at home..they won't beat BU at home maybe they can beat UVM Jan 4 at home. 3-13-1 to start the new year.

I'm looking forward to Friday nights game to see if we can get on a little roll. Really need to see some positives to turn this around. I hope to see a team effort for 60 minutes of high energy forechecking, crisp puck movement along with solid, physical, defensive play.
