You must admit that's some funny stuff:D

Anyone else shocked by UNHs slow start.
I am for one surprised at the UNH start...figured there netminder would be the glue to keep this team in all there games...instead theres a 14-1 goal difference...if it continues thru October and into November then I would figure that UNH is in Big Trouble....but it's just 3 gamnes to date.

some people confuse Chippy/Competitive with Dirty
and some people NEVER saw anything that Ben Homstrom did behind the play, or they would never throw stones
Every TEAM has a so called either dirty/goon or player that you hate...some you hate for their actions and some you hate for their talent...Diamond is a player with talent, but with that said he has gone out of his way at times to push the buttons against opposing players...and has put the Team in the hole(penaltys)...but I have been a backer of #39 since day one and "HOPE" that this weekend rang his bell that he has to know when to pull his antics...he's more of a asset for Maine on the ice then in the stands or the Penalty Box...but one thing for sure he backs his Team 100% of the time...the cards are in Joey's corner...lets hope he makes it work. Maine Hockey needs Diamond and Joey needs Maine Hockey.

TIMMAY HOCKEY
1-2-1

Support winning teams on campus.
Don't forget about field hockey! 14-2!:D

That guy was entertaining and had a cannon for a slapper. I think I took in a game at Schneider once when the fiery Bob Bell popped him in the face with his blocker a few times. And that wasn't the only game I saw Bob Bell do something like that.

He was definitely a good player but cheap as they come

Look at the teams ranked ahead of Maine now......Union, Merrimack, Colgate, Northern Michigan???? Shawn must be rolling in his grave.:(

By the way, good luck trying to crack the top 8.......me thinks that those programs are firmly entrenched.

Nice article on Ryan Hegarty in today's BDN. I don't wish to be negative or throw a "wet blanket" on the good things that he does but he still makes bad decisions with the puck. It seems at times he panics.

I think your right, Hegarty always worries me when he plays with the puck in our end. Not as bad as Pryor though.

Thought there was somthing interesting to be seen here. Please take a look at the hit Blood (6'4 225) lays on Leen (5'8) to end the 1st period. Note: there was no call. Then check out the infamous boarding all on Diamond (5'7) with 5 minutes left. If Blood's hit was clean then the call on Diamond should raise alot of eyebrows. But I'm sure the stoic Whitehead discussed this with the refs before making Diamond the unofficial scapegoat. I'm sure the team is comfortable knowing that their coach always seems to have their backs against the refs....and he media. Wake up Tim. Did you learn even the basics from Shawn?

Here's a discussion topic, how bored are you with the Maine hockey season already? Is this team the second most boring Maine hockey team ever (2007-08, with top scorer Wes Clark's 10-11-21 line easily takes the cake)? At least in 2008-09, with a team that was worse (this team should be better than 13-22-4), there was Nyquist to make things interesting. I think every single person in this thread can accurately predict a.) the team's final record within a few percentage points (something like 18-13-5) b.) the team's final standing in HEA within a place (4th-5th-6th) c.) how many points the high scorer will end up with within 4 points (give me 37 and the under) and d.) when the season will end (first weekend of the HEA tournament, three spots out of the NCAAs).

This season is just a huge meh all around. Throw in the fact that the only home non-conference series is against a team that isn't going to win a game this year, and I'm already over it. I think that says a lot, seeing as I've been more positive than the average poster on this thread by about a factorial of 10.

The sad part of all of this is it didn't just happen over-night...

It's always the same old start heggerty and Pryor, both drafted, both full schools, both USNTDP guys, so no matter what they HAVE to be better thanNemec , Cornell, and o'Connor, all of whom are none of those, just hard working guys who have some jam and don't get stuff handed to them

Nemec/Cornell/O'Conner/O'Neill are the true d-men for Maine,Pryor/Hegarty are more or less the so called offensive d-men...but in truth they are the turnover twins....like to see Jacob Rutt get a couple starts in the next 3 weeks vs PC/BC-UNH & UML.

UND's Blood is more or less a goon and he got away with alot this weekend at home, what adds to the insult is he scored a game winner...he was a punk up at Maine last fall and what do you expect...I have always like the UND Teams, but that guy is one that I care less one way or another...and care less is what I mean...what goes around always comes around.

Maine has to put this slow start behind them. I think it's good this team is going into a bye week because it's going to be an up-hill battle the rest of the way. I don't see any easy wins for this team. Maybe after 2 weeks off they'll be hungry to play and win a couple of conference games against a new look friar team.

Yeah, you can thank him for the elimination of the HE tourney consolation game.

we will be just fine. Chill brothers. Black Bears will start winning real soon!

Mark Pryor received a concussion late in the season last year and didn't play the last few games of the year as I recall. There was some concern about his playing days being over. I don't think he has his game back yet.

NICK Pryor had a hip issue in Frosh year, a concussion and associated issues in Soph year, for a total of 11 games. Not trying to be harsh, but has not lived up to hype even when healthy.....He has a great pedigree, was supposed to go to Wisconsin...so he must be "good"...and Timmay will keep trying to show how good a recruiter Weasel Kereluke is......off ice, he seems to be a great kid, but living on your laurels is not the way to win games...and Mark Pryor was a pitcher for the CUBS,,,
