Good instigators/pests know theres a time/place. Joey Diamond hasn't figured that out yet. Suspension last year didn't help, maybe Whitehead actually making a stand will. I don't know, with my expectations for this team, I'm not opposed to Tim trying something different to get this player, and his team's, attention.
Anyone else shocked by UNHs slow start.
Not one bit. They were a one trick pony last year and all those guys are gone. They were picked by most people on reputation and nothing else.

UNH kinda has that 2007-08 Maine Black Bears stink about them.

Sounds like Maine now a days in the Polls...more on reputation then what really is happening...a Program going down hard and no hope in sight. Not one bit. They were a one trick pony last year and all those guys are gone. They were picked by most people on reputation and nothing else.
Wake me up when Whitehead is gone........for now, I'm following the football program (that's a switch!).
Obvious troll is obviousC'mon guys. Life is good. hockey is great! I sure hope Coach Whitehead gets a long, long extension. Despite what some band wagon fans will say our coach is tops. One of the best in the NCAA. He is an excellent communicator and a teacher. Our boys excel under his leadership both on and off the ice. We are very lucky.
Go Black Bears!

Corkum is waitingNew coaches can bring positive change to programs. See: Providence, Northeastern, UMass-Lowell.
Wait, I'm confused. So are you saying Diamond plays for Merrimack? Kyle Bigos will not be denied!..... "bar none the dirtiest player in Hockey East".....

North Dakota may have a so call off year and still win 22 or 23 games...the Fighting Sioux will be fine after this month once they get there lineup together...they always get hot by December/January....by that token Maine in the last 4-5 years usually goes into the tank after the Holidays and the Florida Classic,The Whitehead SWOON every New Year..Judged by the shellacking BC put on the Sioux, I'm thinking that UND is not what they usually are this year...Still, it was surprising to see Maine looking like the clearly superior team this entire past weekend.
The Bears' PP was as good as I've seen in many years, from any team.If they can continue to execute that well, 2011/12 might go down as the best year for the Maine PP ever.I was extremely impressed with the accuracy and timing of their passing.
Sully..?Not so much.He seems to struggle to see the puck, even before the shot.He was OK last night, but benefited from a few shots just hitting him as he looked around frantically for them coming his way.He is not a disaster, but I'm setting his career save % over/under at .889.I just don't see him blossoming into a shut-down D-1 goalie.(Marty,maybe...)
Maine was pretty fun to watch, though.Fewer egregious plays in their own end, now that Banwell has graduated.(Hegarty had to to try do that all by himself!)The freshmen played pretty smart hockey, and they all seemed to have the tools to refine their games. The remaining upper-class forwards looked pretty **** good as a whole, too...More dangerous than last year.
Yes, I want a new head coach, and more consistency in the program...But I can't find it in my heart to root against Maine, no matter what. Here's hoping the Seniors make the NCAAs, and then that Maine hires somebody who can get them there nearly every year thereafter.(Bob Corkum certainly comes to mind as a strong candidate.)
