Nick Pryor left the ice with a shoulder injury and did not return. This guy has had more than his share of bad luck. He played very well tonight.

yeah, no luck at all... caught an edge and went into the boards hard... i'm guessing he either broke his collarbone or separated his shoulder...

Pretty sure Pryor did return after that actually...

Pryor was back on the ice in the 3rd period

Apparently Cornell hit too many people or maybe he scored too much friday night, welcome to Timmays doghouse.

For whatever reason I want Marty to be #1 goalie but clearly he isn't, Sully was the man tonight, hung out to dry on a consistent basis, he kept Maine in the game. Good thing PC's PP sucks. Shemansky played a good game but I still don't like how easy he gets blown off the puck.
Hansen called nearly every penalty on Maine, I think Bunyon finally got one in the 3rd
You just got to wonder,WHY...on sitting Cornell...it seems each and every time he makes a few good hits or takes a penalty you can bet he's in the stands...another irking by TW,he's got to go. Hansen/Bunyon should be suspended for a few weekends after this weekends series,awful...I mean AGAIN come on by calling a penalty on Diamond for diving/embellishment...that was the worst...tapes of that call should be sent to Hockey East Office....that was B.S. all the way.

Maybe Timmy was just rotating the squad? I think you guys are reading way too much into it. Some posters on here have been clamoring for O'Connor for awhile and then when he does come in people complain about who he replaces. Its early in the year and its important everyone gets a game or two.

Have you been to the games and watched Hegarty and Pryor?

I have been to two games and seen three on TV and from what I recall both are left-handed. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I think Pryor's looked pretty good the last couple of weekends. He was absolutely awful his first couple of years but from what I have seen the last couple of weekends its obvious why he was so highly regarded coming in.

And who was hr playing? Cornell! May not be the speedster of man gene, nor the size of Nemec, but he gets it done blocks shots, hits, penalties way down. This let's Pryor be Pryor, knowing he has Cornell at his back Nemec can 'pass, gave up at least 2 to open Friars on Friday and stays in game...want Pryor to improve..leave with a Captain

I agree with you on Pryor, he played very well last night. Also, the coaching staff wanted to get some new personnel into the lineup. It's not a question of removing some players for poor play. Cerretanni and Leen have been doing very well. Accoring to the pre-game interviews, the coaches wanted to give Andersen and Leidermark some playing time. Early in the season it's good to look at many players to see what they can contribute in a game situation. Hockey East is going to be a battle ground this year with many of the teams beating each other up with wins and losses. A 4 point weekend is very nice. The challenges will come next weekend when Maine faces BC and UNH.

I don't think either are as good defensively as Cornell.Pryor likes to jump in and I guess Timmay loves that.

I got no problem with players coming in and out...but seems like Cornell gets singled out at times...imo.

Don't forget he also scored a goal. Nemec and O'Neill both made huge mistakes on Friday but both played on Saturday, com'n Timmy cut the guy some slack.

He was still -1 after scoring a goal................Maine definately needs size in front of the net........check out the last 2 minutes of last night's game.......how about trying out Rutt??.........

Re: U Maine 2011-2012 Season (thread created when Maine was at .500) Thread

In regards to the goaltending, Sully's stats through 3 games look very solid: 2.27 GAA with a .914 SV% to go along with a 2-0-1 record, while Ouellette's are underwhelming (2.98/.882/1-2-0). If only we could stop them from playing the puck...

If this continues to be the case is Sully going to steal more starts or will Whitehead stubbornly continue to employ a 50/50 tandem?

It was scary watching the goaltenders playing the puck and getting in the way...........like slow moe coughing up the puck and scrambling back to the net front...........does Maine still have a goalie coach as it seems that TW does mot seem to correct these tendancies which will definately cost the team.
