Credit where credit due...

The past two episodes of SOA have been very good.

Finally Jax is human again.

Not changing my tune on the first 10 (?) of this season though. Glad that maybe Sutter will pull it off in the end.

Enjoyed last night's episode of blackish quite a bit. Dre's mother comes to visit and of course his mother and his wife have all sorts of tension between them.

While The Cosby Show featured a family that just happened to be black, blackish is about a black family. They face the same problems all families face, within the context of being successful and black in a mostly white society. I like how they reconcile the tensions and contrasts.

I watched the first few episodes. I liked it, but have too much on my dvr plate to continue it. Doesn't mean I won't watch if it's on, I'm home and I'm not watching anything else. What.....it could happen! Anyway, I think the weakest link in the cast is Anthony Anderson. The kids are all really good.

Just caught up with the latest episode of Castle, with them at the dude ranch.. Probably the best Castle episode in a long time.

Also, the last episode of Hell on Wheels was terrific, which doesn't come lightly being that the series has been pretty much hit or miss for a good long time now, more often missing. But Ruth's jailing and sentencing for the killing of Sidney Snow was very well done, exploring some real emotional depths, and really getting to the heart of the characters. Her night in the jail with Bohannen was great, their feelings laid bare with both humor and despair, lying there listening to the pounding of the hammer building the gallows going on throughout the night.

And I'll spoilerize this for those who haven't seen:

The scene where she climbs the gallows, her fear, and most prominently her nervous and hurried breathing really made you feel how it must have been for someone in that position. Not overdone at all, just very real. And the final bit, shown from her point of view after they put the shroud over her head was truly terrifying.

Well done, all involved.

Beckett in black -- yummy! :)

Sleepy Hollow is back to its old cycle of good episode, bad episode. The "Succubus" episode was a steaming pile.

Newsroom's actual story arc is getting interesting, but one must still FF through any relationship scene. In Aaron Sorkin World, male-female interactions that were tired and wheezing in 1988 are considered "sparkling repartee." And all women are two-dimensional, neurotic eye candy / furniture. But Charlie still rocks.

Looks like Hell on Wheels is gonna make the major reboot if it comes back for another season. Cullen goes west to work for the Union Pacific. And by the looks of it, Eva, Mickey and the hoo-ahhs will eventually show up also. As well as a showdown with The Swede.

As does Sloan!

Person of Interest is getting better and better. This season is going to be epic.

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

Kind of a weak wrap up for the hospital storyline and a weak mid-season finale.

Simply having a well liked character die does not make for a stunning or provocative episode.

And kidding aside, I agree that it was senseless in that it seemed like they did it just because.
