My weakness with these long mini-series like BoB and Ken Burns' stuff is that I just marathon the crap out of them. I can never wait until the next episode, etc. So, when it comes to a 9 hour commitment to plow through it all...I wait until I know I can do that in a couple days, and churn through it.

Not sure how to put this so I'll just put it: Galavant was good. It was cute and funny, and that's what it was going for. It's a network show so they'll ruin it, but for the pilot at least -- quite satisfactory.

It's only on for four weeks. They won't ruin it. I LOVED it. I'm still laughing as I'm reading recaps about it. The "we'll start a genocidal war! Yeah! Wait...what???" was hysterical.

Yep, there were a million touches like that. The writer must be an escapee from the Disney-Broadway axis of evil, cuz he has The Pattern down perfectly.

There were bits of Galavant that were pretty lame, low-fruit Scary Movie parody stuff(Winterfell on the sign post for instance), and the musical numbers really didn't bring much more to the table than if they'd just done it straight, but it had its moments. Vinnie Jones was great as always, and the young chef was funny. "Sir Jean Hamm" puking before the big match was a great sight gag for us fans of low brow humor, as was the slo-mo joust itself. .

I loved the horses just trotting away together after the riders fell.

The woodcut bracket for the joust was nice, too.

"Maybe you're not the worst thing ever" was quite good.

Anyone watch Black Mirror? Found out about it from one of the Gawker sister sites while reading Deadspin. It's an anthology series that's been compared to the Twilight Zone for quality. After watching the first two episodes, I wouldn't say it's that great, but it's certainly exceptional quality and probably one of the best attempts to recreate it. Unfortunately, it's British, which means despite having two season (or series they apparently call it?) that means there's only six episodes rather than at least 26, or 70 like the old Twilight Zone had through two seasons.

I haven't seen it yet, it looks promising. It has received favorable reviews (mostly 3-star).

I watched it. It wasn't anything great, but wasn't horrible either. It relies on a ton of 1940's cliches for most of the support characters. The costumes were solid.

I'm curious to see how well it plays into the Marvel Cinematic Universe... That's the whole reason this exists, so I assume there will be some sort of payoff for watching this... It seems a bit cliched with the "odd couple" pairing for Peggy and Edwin... I am looking forward to seeing the arc that Howard Stark goes through in the series... That will probably be the biggest area of character development, IMO... Overall I enjoyed it, but I would like to see the pace pick up fairly quickly since it's only got 7 more weeks...

buxom? well endowed? has bodacious tatas? all of the above? :)

Aside from her attributes, I enjoyed the pilot. Lots of snide humor in it along with the comic book action.
