I thought it looked pretty terrible, and didn't get what it was even about from the commercials....needless to say, I'm not going to watch it.
On the other hand, we (wife and I) watched and finished Top of the Lake on Netflix. Pretty solid show, IMO. In a similar strain as Broadchurch/Gracepoint, but darker. Not True Detective dark, though. The story itself was quite good, with some nice twists. The final twist should have been obvious, looking back, but I didn't pick up on it until just before the main character did. I'd recommend it.
For those that are unfamiliar, Top of the Lake is a BBC mini-series, set in New Zealand. It tells the story of a 12 year girl who is found to be pregnant, and then disappears. The main character is a detective, trying to find the girl, and figure out who got her pregnant, and is played by Elisabeth Moss, from Mad Men. The whole feel of the characters is very similar to the feel I got about the Ozark people in Winter's Bone. Very creepy.
Also, I watched the first three episodes of Black Mirror, after a year or more of waiting for them to be available in the US. I liked the 2nd episode the best, the one about the singing competition. I thought that was the best acted, and the story with the most impact. My second favorite was the 1st episode, about the impacts of social media. The 3rd one was good, but not as good as the first 2, IMO. Hoping to get time to see the next 3 sometime this week.

If I recall correctly, she frees them in the Starz miniseries Pillars of the Earth. The show was mediocre at best, though, this is one that is firmly in the "doesn't do the book justice".

spoilers:I knew the coffee shop was involved somehow and felt like the police department was involved. I didn't call that the son wouldn't not actually be related to the bad guy.
I still can't decide if I liked that show, I felt like I just watched because I wanted to make sure I was right, but I felt like I knew what was going on the whole time other than one thing.

Mrs. Kepler and I finished a binge watch of Ascension's first 6 episodes. It's very uneven, and at times it's indistinguishable from a primetime soap, but on balance I recommend it. It's also a show where you REALLY, REALLY want to avoid spoilers.
It's also an amazing show for eye candy.

I had the same hunches, but I just didn't put it together until the end. I feel like I should have seen it earlier. I thought it was worth watching, because the story that happened, including the backstory with the detective, and all of the stuff with Mitchum, was interesting. There was enough in the middle that made it worth it, it wasn't just the whodunit aspect that kept it going.

The first two seasons of Homeland were great. Third season not too much, this past season was good. Other Showtime shows - Ray Donovan was really good first season. Second season, not as much. But I'm going to continue.
For HBO - Boardwalk Empire was pretty good. Six Feet Under was excellent. And I'm in the minority but I love The Comeback.
Anyone watch the Golden Globes last night? Can't believe The Affair won. Or Ruth Wilson. I like it, don't love it, and think other shows could have been recognized instead. Not surprised about Kevin Spacey. Now that I have AppleTV as well I need to get Netflix so I can watch House of Cards.

I will echo support for Game of Thrones and True Detective on HBO GO. Both are legitimate best show on TV contenders. The Affair is good, not great, in my opinion. Dexter is good until the last couple seasons. The Wire is near the top of my list to watch next.
Watch the first season. After that it ranges from OK to downright terrible (season 3).

Thanks all! Definitely gets me a good starting point. It's easier for the wife and I to binge watch episodes. The wife likes The Lord of the Rings/Hobbit (just powered through the first two Hobbits on HBO Go), so Game of Thrones should be an easy sell.
Scarlet, House of Cards is great (the second half of season two seems to escalate quickly), and Orange is the new Black has been fantastic.

I did the same last week. Those younger stewardesses or whatever they were called really had to work to top Tricia Helfer. Not sure if they did.

The movies are just what they're airing this month (or what they have rights to). But their series seem to run much deeper.
Just taking a quick look and they have The Wire, The Sopranos, Sex and the City, OZ, The Pacific, Rome, Lucky Louie, Flight of the Conchords, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Carnivale, Band of Brothers, all the current series, and a few more.
The movies are just what they're airing this month (or what they have rights to). But their series seem to run much deeper.
Just taking a quick look and they have The Wire, The Sopranos, Sex and the City, OZ, The Pacific, Rome, Lucky Louie, Flight of the Conchords, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Carnivale, Band of Brothers, all the current series, and a few more.
