Depending on the movie, I might care. If it portrays itself as "based on a true story" or something, I will care a little more. For example, Goodfellas is about 90% true according to Henry Hill, and even Scorcese said he didn't change much from the book (Wiseguy), because the story itself was difficult to improve. Truth is stranger than fiction sometimes. Sidenote: the Spider incident...apparently that actually happened. IIRC, Spider is buried "somewhere in PA."

For something like Braveheart, it's a nice story, and a great movie. I didn't expect it to be historically accurate. I expected it to be strictly entertaining, which it was.

Edit: it's why I hate the movie The Runaways. Pure piece of trash and mostly fiction.

I will not watch Argo because it is a Hollywood piece of "mostly fiction" as you aptly put it. Affleck made the CIA the heroes while ignoring the role of Ambassador Ken Taylor and the Canadian government.

I will not watch Argo because it is a Hollywood piece of "mostly fiction" as you aptly put it. Affleck made the CIA the heroes while ignoring the role of Ambassador Ken Taylor and the Canadian government.

I have had trouble watching war movies lately. They are starting to get to me, emotionally.* Chalk it up to age, whatever. Chances are, I'll marathon it next summer along with The Wire.

*After "Lone Survivor" it's been tough. Real tough.

I hear ya. That "Generation War" is like that. Different life paths, and such.

However, modern movies/shows dealing with that stuff has become so realistic and moving...sometimes it's really tough. It's too real. It's good to see, but one can't go in blindly. One has to be in the mood for it, you know?

Band of Brothers, wow I can't even explain. Really puts **** in perspective. Then you feel terrible because it took that to do it.
