Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Thank god for no Redemption Island.
Amen.

They definitely have this one set up for a pair of extremely nasty villains (the banker, who seems like a garden variety ******, and the lawyer, who is out of Central Casting for twit of the year). The Chicago projects queen is a piece of work, too. And the gay guy is at about a 9, I need him at a 3.

The only cute girl on the island broke her wrist, so it's going to be beef & bimbos versus the misfits, as per usual.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

The Batman stuff in last night's 30 Rock was great. The stuff with "normaling" was funny too.

And seeing one of the McPoyles on Grey's Anatomy was great.

Anything with Jenna Maroney is usually pretty funny, and as hit-or-miss as this season is, she's been especially great.

I couldn't remember seeing Ryan McPoyle in anything else--whereas Jimmi Simpson is like the male Judy Greer--so I imdb'ed him and apparently he was on an episode of Breaking Bad. Also an episode House, but late enough in the run that I refuse to believe it exists. I also learned that he's going to be on an episode of Breakout Kings this season, which stars Jimmi Simpson. Maybe they'll drink warm milk together.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Don't hold your breath.....I've already asked.....

I gave up after two episodes......

the third started to 'happen'...watch a re-run of it before Sunday and I think you'll tune in Sunday night

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Rented and watched all of S2 of Breaking Bad this weekend (goal is to get Mrs. EoDS caught up before S5 premieres).

She can already hardly believe what's become of Walt at the end of this season, and has a lot of pity for Jesse (even if she feels like he brings most of it on himself). Seasons 3 and 4 should be interesting for her...

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

The Walking Dead is back with a vengeance.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

No matter what you say about the Walking Dead: they do action scenes really well.

It'd be nice if Lori and Shane had more dimensions to them besides being horrible/stupid whenever it forces something to happen in the narrative. I wish Dale was more than just a horse's *** who psychically knows what Shane does. I wish T-Dawg had a personality or lines. I wish I knew anything at all about Herschel's family. If this show cared half as much as out the characters as it did the zombie scenes, this would be a brilliant show. Instead it's just a fun show with occasional great actions and a bunch of talking scenes that don't mean as much because the characters are so flat.

hmmm, I got the opposite feeling about character development etc. so far this season. I thought they were moving more to the psychological aspects of survival and how now it wasn't all about just kill/be killed but learning a new social structure etc. so I thought they were spending more time on character than they did previously.

I figured that was what happened in the bar, they went from killing zombies to killing people and both the other guys reacted far differently, with Hirschel becoming more aggressive and the other guy becoming less. Then they had the conflict about saving the young guy which now will turn into a big moral debate with Shane and Lori as they realize they aren't part of the new society, as it seems to be forming. They spent time with the crazy guy and the mom having an odd back and forth too. I think they are setting up a lot of internal conflicts within the group and internally within several of the group.

Perhaps T-Dawg's lack of involvement is going to show up down the road...is he really part of the group as the only african american?

Agree, the family is hard to figure, aside from the story last night about her coming home from school I was starting to think there is something 'odd' about the family, like maybe they aren't all related or are all "too" related.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Who the hell is Aubrey O'Day, and why did she think she was the most famous person on the Celebrity Apprentice?

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Alcaltraz is accelerating the story nicely, in an obvious but not obvious sort of way. Finally some interconnections arising among the investigators/inmates.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Well HIMYM didn't suck...

Did anyone else see Conan O'Brien in the episode...he is only in it for about a second :)

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

True, but it wasn't really that good either. They are scraping the bottom of the barrel to make Marshall and Lily relevant.

And quite frankly, I'm tired of being strung along on "the mother." It's like Lost. Let's get to it already.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

When was that? At MacLaren's?

Yeah when Barney runs out after reading the bet about the sex tape he bumps into a tall guy who turns around as Barney leaves. It is Conan.

And yeah like I said it didn't suck but that is because they did not drag along the stupid Ted and Robin thing they nipped it in the bud.

it was nice to see Ted reacted to what he said pretty much the same way we reacted to what he said...

From looking at her Wikipedia page, the conclusion I've come to is that she's some skank.
