Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

We meet the mother in the last episode (if she exists) it isnt about that. Ted can tell all the douchy stories he wants about the chicks he banged (to his kids) he is hardly the focus of the show anymore anyways. The problem lies in that Lilly and Marshall are pretty stupid now (a point Jason Segal has made publicly) and here we are, 6 years later or whatever it is already knowing Ted and Robin don't end up together but he just asked her to marry him. Really Barney is the only interesting character on the show, and the main reason I watch :)

I think the show would be better off if it ended this season because I have a feeling next season is going to even ruin Barney as they drag out his anxieties about long term relationships, his love for Robin and then his proposal.

BTW how terrible are Lilly and Marshall for staying out as late as they do while she is pregnant. I mean if they are in danger of only taking the drunk train home they aint leaving during Happy hour ;)

I think that you have hit the problem on the head: they have written themselves into a corner and have no idea of how to get themselves out. Lily and Marshall adjusting to suburban life, Ted spiraling into a pit of depression and general unlikableness, Which leaves Barney and Robin to carry the show. Barney can do it, but they have not developed the depth of character with Robin to really to that at this point. The only hope is that they find a way to fix Ted over the rest of this season so I can actually make it through next season.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Yeah it is too bad because Robin was actually pretty interesting around the time she she and Barney started their deal. I mean from their hookup in Sandcastles in the Sand all the way through to their breakup I really liked her. Now she gets serious about a guy and then when they break up laments how she was finally able to get serious, even though she has had a serious relationship in like 4 of the 6 seasons so far ;) Robin has turned into what Barney started as...a one dimensional character with no soul the only difference is Barney was cool because he was that way she sucks because of it. They peeled away every bit of character she had...

Watching Marshall now is a joke. He is the worst of every cliche there is. Dopey husband who screws everything up and makes lame jokes. I mean the episodes where his dad died were great but beyond that he is just every lame sitcom newbie dad ever created. Too bad, when they broke him and Lilly up when she went to San Francisco I thought he was pretty cool. Now I want to punch him.

I am still praying Ted doesnt have any kids because seriously the stories he has told are crazy. I mean he told his kids about the threesome he had

That's the series finale twist: Teds going through a bitter divorce and now he's lashing out at the kids out of his weird issues with the future and former Mrs. Moseby. Somehow, telling the kids about all the chicks he banged in his early 30s makes him feel like less of a middle aged loser.

And then tells them he is still nailing Aunt Robin, and Trudy and maybe their mom's lesbian roomie...that would be:

Finally getting started on S3 of Justified.

I really need to see the first two seasons, but this is pretty awesome so far.
Only complaint so far: it's hard to actually care about secondary characters that have a 90% chance of getting killed off by the end of the episode. That and the accents are probably a little too genuine for my northern ears.

Have we ever established the kids are Ted's? I know he's referred to "your Aunt Lilly" and "your Aunt Robin", so we know they're not their children. Could they actually be Barney's kids? Has he referred to "your uncle Barney?"

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

What if they were his step kids and that is why he is torturing them with this story ;)

...and then he wakes up in bed next to Suzanne Pleshette...

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

(I know there are a couple of us on here that still watch)

There may have been more entertaning moments in last night's Survior premire than all of South Pacific.

Thank god for no Redemption Island.

But Raylan Givens is such a badazz. Shooting Juliette through a dead guy's body. Shawn and Gus would be displeased.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I'm probably late to the party on this, but my wife got me Just Dance 3 for Christmas and it has the song "Let's Go to the Mall." I thought it was so funny that I looked it up and found it was on How I Met Your Mother. I'm glad the people behind the show and the game creators have enough of a sense of humor to include it in the game.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

That is awesome! :) The 3 Robin Sparkles episodes are great!

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Anybody watching "Luck" on HBO? So far I think it has done a good job of setting characters and raising enough questions to keep me returning...has potential to be really good but so far it is fairly cryptic.

Don't hold your breath.....I've already asked.....

Anyone watch Luck on HBO? I recorded it and started to watch it last night but I was falling asleep so I shut it off. Will try to pick it up tonight. Looking at it one would think it would amazing. It's just a little slow to start. I'll give it a few weeks so I hope it picks up.

Quoting myself here because no one replied. I'm watching the second episode now and, well, I can't get into it.

I gave up after two episodes......
